Sebastian Vettel had virtually led from start to finish after launching away from pole position and easily retaining first, even without KERS. Lewis Hamilton came in second after an impressive turnaround of McLaren performance while Vitaly Petrov brought Lotus Renault its first 2011 podium.
the sign of a exceptional F1 driver is that he delivers on a constant basis. We have seen A lot of drivers come in with a bang ...Alesi as one example ,but you just cannot base your judgement on results in lower classes as you cannot based on some occasions.
Rosberg ,Schumacher,Alonso or Heidfeld are not better nor worse due to this one race and it´s the ways of handling the situation that will show their true color. But then we have those who can make a final judgement based on this race ...when we all know that australia is notorious for surprise one off results.
What on earth was Rubens thinking? The most experienced driver on the grid keeps doing rookie mistakes. I wonder if he's going to write about all that in his book as well...
Massa looks like he's gonna have another year struggling with his tires. Maybe a swap with one of Sauber's drivers wouldn't be a bad idea.
Hats off to RBR, McLaren and Petrov: =D>
Sauber quickly turning into my favourite team!
Can't wait till the next race.

starting from the back and getting stripped of half of your aero in the first lap may be
an explanation for Petrov being able to drive 2 seconds quicker suddenly.
Still you cannot afford to miss Q2 in a car of the quality of the Renault.
But then Alonso,Massa and Hamilton did things like that not too long ago.It happens even if it is unexcuseable.
Looking at the result (I'm watching the race at the moment) it did give me a smile to see Petrov finish just over a second in front of Alonso. I await the deployment of Alonso's tiny fists of fury!
It was a good bit of racing between Massa and Button. That's what we want to see from Massa! Then Ferrari shot the fox and played the team orders, very sad but legal.
A certain 7 time world champion has also done quite a few mistakes lately.
He also happened to be the guy who blocked Nick Heidfeld during Q1, therefore partly to blame for Heidfeld missing out on Q2, but got away with it with a warning.
Not to even mention, as you said, Alonso, Massa, Hamilton, as well as the reigning World Champion and most experienced driver on the grid.
All I'm saying, give the guy a break.

The Sauber team has announced that it intends to appeal the decision.
Good that they are appealing but the rules are the rules, so we will just have to see what transpires.
I'm surprised at Hamilton's result being allowed to stand. The undertray of the car was clearly dislodged and as such dangerous. Now I read that Hamilton was tampering with it in parc ferme?! As pointed out by David Coulthard there have been instances in the past where lesser and accidental damage have led to either someone being hauled into the pits for repairs or even disqualification. I think he was lucky today to not be hauled up for this.
