Are you joking 'fernando is faster than you, can you confirm you understood that message?'
probably one of the most memorable moments of 2010, however that wasnt down to the track

May I ask why for each of those tracks, please? I'm interested in the reasoning behind people's opinions and not just lists of tracks.

I don't know, the DRS and Pirellis has made most races pretty interesting, there was even passing in Monaco this year, so I assume Valencia will have passing this year as well, in addition I think they are modifying the track a bit this year. I know for a fact that Abu Dhabi is being modified to help overtaking. I would remove Bahrain, just for the political instability, it's a pretty good track with some interesting corners. I would keep Valencia see what happens this year, the drivers like the flow of the circuit. I would rather remove Hungary which also makes for boring processions, in fact I don't know if the DRS will be of any use there.

Also I think it would be wise to tweak the DRS rules so that the leading car can use it 250 meters before the braking zone, given that most braking zones are around 120 meters, that would keep the chasing car from just blowing by the one in front.

Here you go!

Monaco - Outdated, too unsafe and far too small for modern F1.
Silverstone - Personally I am usually bored by the race here. The track is pretty much flat and featureless. I always find the British GP to be a bit of a let down.

Valencia - The races so far have been processions and quite boring.

Abu Dahbi - The track itself is OK, however the event is as we say in these here parts “All skirt and no knickers”. Too flash and, like Monaco, it is for the people who go to F1 to be seen, and not to see F1.

Bahrain - Just plain old boring!

Hockenheim - The newer layout is fine but I preferred the old style Hockenheim track. Other than Monza and Spa it was a true engine test. Given the current engine reg’s I would like to see another track that puts a real strain on the engines towards the end of the season when the drivers are less likely to have a fresh engine. It might throw a bit of a curve ball result.

* European - I think it is the worst track on the calendar, and is just a boring GP generally. European should be a GP that shifts to a different track each year and tracks have to bid for it, and can only host it once in every 6 or 8 years minimum.
That sounds like an idea for Bernie to milk more money out of the tracks. They'd have to pay an extra 5 or 10 million bucks on top of the usual exorbitant fee they pay every year, just for their GP to have a different name.
you pretty much got that point. And if you've got a track thats willing to pay $30m for one race every so often, why the hell not???

Bahrein: no alternatives for racing lines means no overpass
Korea: same plus grip is awfull (although i believe this was just for racing in a brand new asfalt while it was still fresh)
Istanbul: Dont like the first turns and the last one, not a good schematic for an anticlock circuit.
Sepang: same above plus monsoon rainings are a little bit annoying
Hockenheim: Another Tilke crime, want the old circuit back (shame forest gain back his place)
Singapore: again, dont like the layout, but i like the night race concept)

For last, im expecting India brand new circuit to be another "money in" circuit designed by Tilke with the boring layout as the above creations :? Hope im wrong. (i really do)

Fast circuits mixed up with less slow sectors are the ones that i think should provide a good show.

i say let the drivers pick 20 tracks a year. give them a list of all F1 grade tracks and have each driver pick 20 tracks... the top twenty vote getting track go on the calender 3 seasons later so that there is time to promote and gather sponsors

I would give the Korean GP a chance for a dry race. The track is one of Tilke's better creations I think. The problem with the grip was that the tarmac was new and it was raining.

In F1 terms it was an ice rink. I wonder if I can pitch that idea to MrE - F1 on ice? :-k

He'd think it was a fantastic idea and get some crazy oil rich middle eastern baron to create some artificial monstrosity in some middle of the desert hell-hole. At least the rich and the camels will have some decent viewing.

Are you talking from a fan sitting on a Grandstand or from a driver´s point of view?

From a driver´s point of view your opinion would be totally different.

I have never driven or been to Silverstone but for me it is one of the most unimaginative circuits on the calander.

I'd like to see the Swedish GP return with the Scandinavian Raceway. Looks a decent enough circuit. Obviously wouldn't meet the current safety regs though.
