AND they implemented the System in 2011. 2012 they drive with an evolution that has been fully implemented like marcush already said. To be honest, i like to see that the HUGE pre-season disussion at least had reason that is an actual part of the car.

They had been developing this, when Renault was developing the RRH too (Bob Bell was fresh out of Renault).

But how are they going to make it legal?

like they made the f-duct legal? attach it to some other system.. i.e brake bias adjuster?

I think they test in cfd and wt also a car configuration with the a model of the measuring equipment fitted. So no issues about perturbations: they are modelled too.

what is to be won validating a scenario in cfd and on track you are not going to race?
In other words you say it makes sense to validate the test arrangement for its influence on drag ,flow deformation etc but does this imply any accuracy of your cfd or tunnel results vs real world? I don´t get what one would want to achieve doing this.

It´s like measuring a temperature inside a sealed canister by drilling a hole into it and feeding the probe inside...you are modifying your test with the measuring equipment enough to never know for sure if yur results have any value....

Although this seems to have been denied, I cant but help to remember that BMW dienied everything as well, before leaving F1

Concerns me a bit that these type of reports come out.

And why do you say that?

There's nothing to suggest that he would disagree; he has widely said he's happy in the manner the team is conducting its work.

Didn't know whether to post this here or make a new thread however it has to do with Mercedes AMG F1 to the bone.

Just read this by F1SA:

Would there be any truth in this? especially leaving it right til the end of the year in order to hold a shareholders vote?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

"Mercedes announce 2013 sponsor,clearly not leaving F1."

They won't be going anywhere; it's been totally blown out of proportion.

I would like to talk about something that really irritates me. We`ve seen a lot of upgrades for every team`s car so far. But many of them are parts they already used last year. The monkey seat is new to mercedes, but what about the endplate fins which help the diffusor? I mean they were running them on the W02 and i still don`t see them. So, maybe i am wrong, but to me it seems like many teams do not hit the ground with a car that represents their full potential. Sure, you have to talk about aero balance, they cannot bolt on downforce at the end, without doing so at the front. But why do cars lack parts their predecessors were showing?
