Yep, McLaren really do seem to be (unintentionally) buggering their drivers right now.Nando wrote:If it turns out Hamilton will lose his position then if i was Hamilton i would slap Martin right across the face.
It´s been more then one occasion where they have totally raped him of any chances to win a race. It´s starting to get ridiculous.
The issue is that in Canada he got told "If it happens again then you'll get a penalty."myurr wrote:Given his level of dominance it would be particularly harsh if they penalised the driver for the teams mistake. His advantage was worth about 20kg of fuel, which is a lot! I hope they let him off with a warning that if it happens again then he'll get a penalty. It's clear he didn't actually get an advantage given his pace in the other sessions.
That's what happened in Canada 2010; now it's the second time. How many "warnings" does he need to understand the rule?myurr wrote:Given his level of dominance it would be particularly harsh if they penalised the driver for the teams mistake. Well, it's hardly him that needs to understand it is it – it's not like he personally fuels the car, or even dictates how much must go in.andreag wrote:That's what happened in Canada 2010; now it's the second time. But he knows situation, I don't think he is not aware.beelsebob wrote:Well, it's hardly him that needs to understand it is it – it's not like he personally fuels the car, or even dictates how much must go in.andreag wrote:That's what happened in Canada 2010; now it's the second time. Nope – Button commented after Q2 that he didn't even have the advantage of fresh tyres – only Hamilton had been able to not use all his tyres in Q2 of anyone.Teechnical wrote:Do Maldonado and Alonso have an extra set of tyres for the race? Or were they used in Q2. Wanting to know cause I missed Q2
You think the driver knows absolutely everything about exact fuel quantities going into the car, and how much a lap takes, and ...? You honestly think hamilton would have said take extra fuel out when he was dominating the field? Madness.Redragon wrote:But he knows situation, I don't think he is not aware.beelsebob wrote:Well, it's hardly him that needs to understand it is it – it's not like he personally fuels the car, or even dictates how much must go in.
I am not saying he knew exactly the quantity but he probably knew they were running low of fuel to secure pole and take the risk of having enough fuel at the end. Sometimes works sometimes not. And this one is the second it happen.beelsebob wrote:You think the driver knows absolutely everything about exact fuel quantities going into the car, and how much a lap takes, and ...?
