1.Measure: before each pitstop .the mechanics have to prove the torque applied by the airgun using a test device and you monitor the pressure during the airgun check to correlate to what is expected.
This will almost guarantee you will not encounter issues with wheel guns during hot stops.
2.you need a perfect guide system for the driver to slot in the wheelchange box with NO leeway for stopping short or offset.
3. the pit release is still a dodgy decision as you have to be decisive but there are quite a few close calls in terms of unsafe release ....Somehow the guy needs a optical help to decide let him go or hold back to avoid accident or penalty.
just a few thoughts on one of their fails of late..Still much room for improvement ..and most bits are not easy to erase during a race weekend..First you have to analyse than define improvement then implement them. ..
