Vodafone McLaren MP4-27 Mercedes

It's actually pointing outwards more, so nope, they are trying to blow the diffuser even more.

Somebody else said the sidepod undercut was not as deep.. I think it is even more deeper both at the front and back. The parting line of the panels only gave an illusion that the old sidepod was more undercut at the front.
If you're using the exhaust to boost the strength of a vortex, then the actual exhaust aim should not blow directly into the area where you want greatest effect, but at the direct periphery, it's the walls of the vortex that cause the greatest pressure differential.

I don't think it's that Lucozade is gone... it's that the rear wing now is GSK adspace. Maximuscle (to memory) is also part of the GSK family.

We've been discussing the off throttle sound race before now Button has done some laps on empty track and the exhaust note sounded like that in some corners.

Yeah that was just something I was just mentioning not as a reply to your question.. I hear Alan say they had something in the middle of the rear wing that other cars didn't.. And that people hadn't used for a while.. But still waiting for more on that, will post if they mention it again.

Does anyone have any theories about the purpose of the vent placed in the bottom of the sidepod opening?

Cooling inlet for the electronic equipment mounted in the lower part of the side pod.

Got any pics of that? I can't believe that I hadn't noticed it!

After all of this talk of tunnels through the bodywork, perhaps I got a bit over excited ;)
