Wonder what Michael was alluding to here:
I think we might see some interesting happenings in the future that does not concern just one car but several cars. It will be interesting."

Can we expect this new head of aero to have any impact on the remainder of the season for Merc?

I've debated with myself whether the W03 is a good car but I've come to the conclusion that it's a decidedly average car with a few gimmicks which bring it into the game occasionally (if a million and one conditions fall into place)

With McClaren and Ferrari it was the sidepods which were slowing it down, there doesn't seem like much can be done with this W03 :(

Very frustrating to watch as Michael really looks to have a good grasp of it now, with a good car he could have easily been in the race for the title.

Only plus is that Alonso is doing well.. best driver on the grid along with Schumi!

According to this, Merc have poached an aero-guy from Lotus (Mike Elliot). And he will be replacing Bigois.

I remember this guy being mentioned (here) awhile ago.
this guy have 1 month to come with something new (not extraordinary but something who show us they are on a good line).

Well, I guess one huge benefit is he'll know the ins and out's of why the Lotus is so soft on its tyres.

ok I think the new maps could be what Schumacher was referring to ...
I´m surprised Rosberg was boasting about a aero guy from Renault joining the team ....grasping straw ...I cannot imagine
how he could have a serious impact on the season.

I have recently found a piece about Bell who got interviewed about the challenges of developing a Formula 1 machine and he seemed very level headed and straightforward in his views- only we cannot see the fruits of this straight no bull approach.
Maybe some guys are not there for long methinks ..Bell sorting the morons from the real performers?

Definitely. As I said, there are big holes in this team... things like that do not get solved overnight.

Well, one way of looking at the aerodynamic developments of the Mercs:
Loic Bigois spent 2.5 years with essentially the same BGP001 front wing, only to update it mid-season on the W02 to a RB6 copy from the previous year. Finally, a new set of cascades that looks fairly original on the W03 from season start, but just a month or so after Bigois was ejected from the team Bell decides to rip out the entire upper cascade - to start from scratch? Looks to me like they have very little confidence in Bigois' work. Perhaps a bit tongue in cheek here, but perhaps the reason for the lack of Aero updates on the W03 is due to Bell being forced to drop any aero project initiated by Bigois in the last 6 months as they were being led astray in bizarre directions?

Probably, Bigois didn't appear to be very promising - remember the car is designed a lot earlier before the season begins so I wouldn't put it out of the equation.

At least Merc now has a new guy for the head of aero, someone with a lot of credibility. :D

Nahh, I think it's over for AMG. If you need 3 years to sort out the monkeys off the team its a lost case.
I was really excited at the start of the season when especially after the first free practises at Australia. We all thought they had to sort out some things and they would race for a podium every race.
Also lot's of people wrote Ferrari off because they had a poor care and nobody expect them to fight for the WC.
Look at their situation now. If even the red head Italians are able to get from zero to hero why cant AMG at least be consistent trough the season?

Because they suck. Not only thee head of aerodynamics, or the engineers. They suck as a team. Including and Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Ross Brawn.

All failures IMO

Don't blame the drivers. Are those drivers in poor teams (HRT, Marussia etc.) also bad?

The thing is they are too conservative. They are bunch of pussies. They are affraid to make a big step. What the f can they lose if they experiment? They are already rubbish.

New head of aero ... I still don't have much faith in him. Change the car completly!

You're blaming the drivers? If anything, they've saved the face of this team many times throughout this season.

I don't blame individuals, i blame them as a team. And the drivers also make part of the team.

Show me one interview of Nico saying something positive about Michael. You can't.

Show me a movie that Nico and Schumacher are talking in the garage or at least stand side by side. You cant.

All Nico can do is making stupid video blogs in ffwd 'germand english'.

This team is a joke.

I wouldn't be quick to dismiss a team after 3 seasons. It can take more than that even for a top team. Even someone as talented as Adrian Newey designing the car, Red Bull only got its first wins at Red Bull on his third season, winning the championship on the 4th season.

I'm not necessarily saying they are doing a good job, but they did get a win this year as well as multiple podiums. They are definitely lagging on the development race though but there would definitely be a reason behind that. Whether that reason would be technical, financial or corporate politics we would unlikely to know for sure.
