I agree Marcus.marcush. wrote:I certainly have huge respect for anyone who feels competent to steer an undertaking of 400 + people. In formula 1 or motorsport generally you will be judged not for your money on the bank but the trophies in your company reception (ok the building did cost a few quid as well) but that´s really the difference to a "normal"company .The aim is to win and the money is just the fuel to do so .
Still you need to find the people who have the passion -but most of them will never ever stand on top of the rostrum no matter how many wins you will bag..
So refuse to call them complete fails it´s just there is a feeling of complacency surrounding Brawn it anything .On the other hand they called him the owl in his Benneton days ...maybe its just his looks that fool you there was no passion.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think it is particularly easy to find wins floating about in F1. But if there was ever a season in which it might have been possible to nab more than 1, it definitely would have been 2012. Although I have a feeling we'll see more of this in 2013 too. Perhaps that could be the saving grace for MGP to field a W04 they might otherwise not do...? If this were still the V10-era, it would be interesting to see how things would have played out had Merc fielded a works team then. But I do recall a lot of blown motors somewhere in the last decade, so perhaps it's better Merc came along this decade.
I'm rambling anyhow.
Ross seemed to have a little more life behind his eyes in the Benetton and even Ferrari days.
Perhaps having Flavor Flav and Todt cracking the whip is what he needs...?
Flavor Flav as Team Principal, and RB as Technical Director? Maybe that would solve all of Merc's woes.
