@ SK: I gave MGP the benefit of the doubt when I worried they might be a threat to Ferrari in 2010. That worry has since turned to gratitude for MGP's new status as a buffer.

@ X: All things in context.

Nothing. Not a damn thing.

(This is fun.)
You call a 60 MUSD retirement fund in Switzerland nothing, do you Ball?
Perhaps Ross is hanging around to try and short Mercedes stock when it comes out that there will be heavy losses due to AMG's F1 team?

Pictured: The last time MGP was relevant. We hadn't even gotten to mid-engine layouts!

Too much engine power to the wheels: Mercedes-Benz Motorsport to blame for the tire problem?

Perhaps Merc should try new things just for the sake of it?

I'm sure they could figure out a way to get some ground effects on the car.

Or they could just remove the front wing completely?

That's rather good.

Thank you for posting that link zyphro.

Now wouldn't this fly in the face of the claim made by one poster that Merc engines are the absolute best out there?

Wouldn't it also remove all doubt that Ron the Con uses Merc engines out of the goodness of his heart and/or just wants to win?

Why if Ron the Con wanted to win, he would be on the phone with Renault Sport asking about engines.

Are the Mercedes engines the most powerful on the grid, while MGP's version is the most equal of them all? I'm shocked...

At least we have a new information...

Due to the superior power provided by Ilm--I mean Mercedes engines, the W03's rear end tends to break loose at high speeds from the insane amount of power, which is why you do not see the W03 doing well in straight lines. In addition, it suffers from the same problem in corners. The drivers don't have the luxury of being able to tame the raw power so they have to be much more delicate with throttle manipulation, so as not to be in the peak power range...thus resulting in taking corners at slower speeds due to gearing issues. Slower speeds means less downforce in corners.

Good god I feel dizzy typing all of this.

This must be how it feels to be on the Daimler board when Norby and Ross speak.

Think about which car was used to test the current Pirelli tires.

Marcus, I think you, myself, and xpensive should get together one day so we can shoot the sh*t about MGP.

I have a feeling it would be rather fun.

We could sit outside Dr. Z's office in Stuttgart so he overhears everything.

/facepalm The merc engines are widely considered the most powerful on the grid. You're American... You have Steve Matchett mentioning this every race weekend, and you're sighting an article that discusses how the Merc engine's power is chewing up the tires as contradicting me?

Wtf are you talking about?
