Romain Grosjean is the most pathetic and incompetant driver I have ever seen in F1. The only reason he is there is because he has a sponsor "Total" .

you are F1 driver ? did you ever taken 5 cars out at the first corner? have you ever been taken out at the first corner?

How is this possible? I did see this on other tracks earlier this season. Is it just because he couldn't get the tyres in the right working window and thus destroyed the tyres this fast?
He said that because he had to immediately push to get past Ricciardo after his first stop, he worked the tyres too hard and they wore out too quickly.

He also said that if he hadn't have lost top gear the 2nd stop might have worked out for him, being able to catch up Webber, Massa, Hulkenberg etc.
I dont think so, the gap was too big and the pace of the other drivers was not bad, so its clear that the strategy was awful and because of this he lost a good chance to fight for the podium. Anyway, Michael is still a beast, he fights like a lion and for me its a pleasure to see him driving, even with this mediocre car.

I am praying to see him in the front in Monza, his top speed in Spa was good.

not really cuz he is only about 10 seconds behind with 10 laps to go. I think he could make up about 1.5 second per lap without the 6th gear failure. You must remember that in spa acceleration is VERY important the moment you lost one gear you may lost up to .5 to .8 of a second a lap! Anyway I'm very suspicious because this year we see quite a lot of gearbox failure compare to the previous year.

Does anyone know why Hamilton took the time to recover a part of the front wing, and carry it all the way back to the pits? Maybe this is the part that is flexing?

I think thats due to the fact that this year gearboxes have to last for 5 races as opposed to 4.

Take a deep breath. Relax. I'm trying to see this from an independent point of view. I can show you many starts that have ended in carnage if you like. Yes, RG has had his share this year but noone here is perfect and it was not deliberate. He can drive and has proven so. Alonso had a chance to be a leader and acknolowedge he has done something similar, he chose to cast him away. It's not a good look for the kids who see these guys as heroes. A little less 'I'm so perfect' and a little more humility and understanding would be good.

The trolls on here could try that too.

I was thinking something along those lines as well - but it looked like a flap and endplate to me, whereas the flexing is generally visible on the pylons?

I think it is more a matter of being very mad, kinda like saying "look this what is left of the car".

it is not independent point of view, you are trolling here with your statements.
if it was independent point of view you would take into account every aspect of the yestarday crash:
who did it ?
how many times this season was he involved into similar incidents?
how many drivers has he taken out?
how come other drivers manage to make clean start most of times and he can't?
was it life threatening to any driver?
Alonso's crash wasn't same as Romain's.
FIA took all the facts into sccount and that is why he had such punishment.

To be suspicious its quite normal, Michael has suffered too many failures this season, its not the reliability you expect from a prestigious label like Mercedes.

So with losing 6th gear, does that raise the possibility of gearbox change and 5 place penalty?(no idea what number race he is on for current gearbox)

It was in the middle of the pitlane so he picked it up so the marshalls didn't have to. (They may have missed it).
