That's...a very relevant question, yes it is. Bizarre.

I find it sort of amusing everyone is so concerned with who will be driving the W04 in 2013, that they ignore what the real relevant questions are regarding the W04. Will it even be competitive?

Who cares who drives the car if the car itself is another underperforming pile of ---.

When everyone else is doing 1 pit stop, MGP is praying they can get 2 pit stops at the right time so they don't get passed by half the field. They lucked out at Monza with that 2 stopper...I mean really, forget where they placed at the end of the race. It's fact that when your rear tires degrade faster than every other team, you're chances of finishing in the points diminishes. All the top better teams are capable of running 1 stop strategies when the track calls for it, and predictably the results have 1 stop teams placing near the top.

Instead I come on here and see people so focused on the latest shell game from MGP; the great driver lottery of 2013.

Will it be Michael and Lewis?

Will it be Michael and Nico?

Will it be Nico and Lewis?

This is really how this team has evaded scrutiny for so long from everyone who should know better.

Every so often they get some sort of rumor going in the media, or they make some sort of announcement that sounds good. Everyone from the fans to the media eats it up, while ignoring who the sources are, and why the sources would have reason to be disingenuous (Norby the Hutt and Ross the Toss). Doesn't anyone find it fascinating how someone as fat as Norby somehow evades detection from the media every race weekend? Go to a DTM race and you can see Norby quite plainly. Go to a F1 race and Norby's gargantuan mass somehow slims down and recedes into the background. But this seems to evade even the MGP fanboys/apologists.

This is the biggest swindle currently happening in F1 since Ron the Con denied having any knowledge of Nigel S's information...and people continue worrying about the team's drivers. As if that makes a real difference.

If, I say IF, MGP have some aces in their sleeve and it happens that W04 is a competitive, WC capable car, it would be a big injustice to their current drivers if they get another one to just hop into the cockpit. I mean if their current drivers want to stay and are committed to the team. Because of the three year efforts, ups and downs, suffering on track, suffering sometimes from unjustified accusations.

Rosberg win 1 race this year! Micheal win nothing! even his podium in Valencia was with huge luck. So stop it .... who cares about qualifying? when Rosberg has 2 times Micheal points. At end of season only points count! not qualifying or luck. Stop dream and understand Micheal is to old for this competition.... comeback was the worst decision for him.
You must understand Rosberg and Lewis are the future in this League! Michael is just an old legend who think can fight with these small fishes.
And btw i'm fan Micheal but this Team (mercedes) need a real driver for 2013. A young and talented driver who can fight for Championship. Schumacher it's a great sports figure but there's no place for him and he know that very well.
sometimes it's better to retire in glory but if you don't accept it and keep going to lose your entire aura and we have many examples in sports. athletes who didn't quit in time and the best example is Ronaldo.

No your an ex schumacher fan, i hope he does sign for next year and 2014, he's never once had a decent car until the first part of 2012 but merc had tyre deg issues, plus in 2008 if the alonso singapore incident didn't happen massa wouldv'e been world champion not hamilton, last year at monza hamilton couldn't even get past an 42 year old with a better car until pirelli's were doing what they do best how embarassing

If Michael wants to continue next year then he will do and Mercedes will choose according to him. If he continues then the Germans has to choose between Nico and Lewis.
We must understand that Mercedes came in Formula 1 for Schumacher.
There was never the problem as Mercedes don't want him next year but he doesn't want to continue. If Micheal wanted it probably would have signed by now because he knows that next year W04 will be more competitive than W03.

I'm still not sure who's pushing this, Lewis might want it, McLaren could be eager to get rid of him and Ross would perhaps
see it as a bright idea, but I'm not sure if DrZ and the suits believe that 60 MEUR over three years is money wisely spent?

Moreover, I think the Daimler board still view MSC as a priceless marketing asset, while Nico has actually won a race.

Exactly. They are not going to pay him that amount. Anyhow, when MSC decides to stay, this whole fairytale will be blown to bits. Also I don't see how Mercedes will have an advantage of being a works team in 2014. McLaren will run the same engine, will have the same data about that engine, and has a bigger budget plus more efficient personel then Mercedes. McLaren has more chance being succesfull in 2014. Hamilton surely must realise that too. Yeah sure work relations are a bit sour now at McLaren; that'll pass.

if anyone can perform the maths i´m happy to accept.
Daimler is not going to fork out 20 or 25 mill$ for three years just to have Hamilton. In facz DAI is trying to save money on all fronts...so who ios going to pay for that sum ? zetsche-no ways.
