What I don't understand is why FIA might impose the parc ferme rule. The parc ferme rule applies to all the cars after qualifying till the race starts. I understand they are allowed to change a part with an exact similar replacement, but would they be allowed to change a whole gearbox(same gear ratios off course) no matter what the problem is? If not then the parc ferme rule will be applied by default and he has to start from the pit lane. Ferrai wouldn't mind that either I guess!!

that is why Scrabs is suggesting, if they do it without any reason they will be deemed as breaking the parc f rule and hnce start from the pit lane

I haven't seen anything as far as long runs without DRS are concerned, also it is a bit warmer than it has been in the last two days. I do believe that some teams are getting up to 1.75 seconds worth of DRS advantage compared to a normal race setup. The reason being that a lot of this track depends on the exit speed of the turns particularly in sector 3 and the start of sector two. With DRS open you can carry up to 15 kph more through 16-18 alone that's like two tenths in that corner alone. This is also true coming off turn one and through 5.

Yesterday Lotus changed Grosjean's gearbox between FP3 and Q1.

So a couple or hours if they are going to change they will be doing it now surly

#F1 I hear via good source that Ferrari will indeed go for the Massa penalty. All they have to do is break the seal, not change 'box

That would be kind of dumb just to break the seal. At least they can change it and have a fresh one for Brazil.

it takes time to replace it, atleast an hour...so thats why
it will be real joke if we see the dirty side not as slippery as poeple make it be
and we have a normal race start

Just finished re-watching the qualifying session, and there were just no marbles (or clag) on the track. I wonder how much the tires won't degrade today? And how long will they make the mediums last? Drivers are having some struggles finding the limit on their tires, and there might be some spins today... maybe even safety car periods. Once the circuit rubbers in after those races next year this is going to be a great, technical circuit for the drivers.
