Kimi and Lewis drove the hell out of their cars today. It was those two who made watching the race fun for me.

Yep. Realistically it's now safe to say it is over. 7 races to go, a massive lead of 53 points. Japan will be probably be a bit too soon, but at India we'll see one massive finger.JimClarkFan wrote:So is the championship all but over now?
Why? I thought he had a good race today.Traction wrote:
Webber useless.
IMO he just doesn't push hard enough, I know at the latter stages the gear box was not 100% but early on he just can't give it everything. Not just this race but many many others.zeph wrote:Why? I thought he had a good race today.Traction wrote:

Really? He set his fastest lap of the race on lap 53 with a 1:26.690. Vettel did it on lap 52 with a 1:27.190. I don't get the he doesn't push hard enough part at all...Traction wrote:IMO he just doesn't push hard enough, I know at the latter stages the gear box was not 100% but early on he just can't give it everything. I thought Hamilton did the 1.24.8xx during that lap, when Sutil slowed the Merc. Then, Hamilton did a 38s sector two the next lap, we saw between the 1.24.8xx and the turn 1, that hamilton couldn't get reed of Sutil ( given that Sutil has just began his fast lap).NottsF1 wrote:I was using the F1 timing screen yesterday and on the lap that Sutil blocked him, Hamilton's sector 2 time was up around 10secs (~38s instead of ~28s). There has been no mention of this and something must have happened to lose so much time. Nothing was shown on BBC TV. I suspect that the Sutil block (what less than 1sec?) is being used as a bit of a smokescreen.SectorOne wrote: He made a mistake. several actually, some can have been caused by the first mistake damaging the car but nonetheless he took full blame even though we all saw Sutil blocking him.
Is there anywhere to review the sector times of final qualifying? (New here so apologies if I've missed something). Or does anyone know what really happened (spin, off the track?)
Note – Hamilton blames himself because he damaged the car on his first run in the same interview he also stated categorically that Sutil blocked him significantly on the second run (but that he still blames himself because he should have got the job done earlier, and he's right).diego.liv wrote:I thought Hamilton did the 1.24.8xx during that lap, when Sutil slowed the Merc. Good tah Ham blames himself, but that block was in his timed lap costing him Q2
Umm, Vettel would have finished 2nd in Britain. Hamilton had that race covered until the tyre issues reared their ugly head.SilverArrow10 wrote:Well Vettel would have won in Britain without problems and likely Hungary with the faster car( come on it was see his times in clear air) if he hadn't got stuck. He has six victories when no one has more than 2. Yeah its over. its Just 2011 all over again.
Yup, indeed – this year it's been fairly easy to determine who's going to win of Merc and RBR early on in the race. If Hamilton is still ahead at the end of lap 1, it's in the bag for Merc already. If not, RBR are disappearing into the distance.Just_a_fan wrote:Umm, Vettel would have finished 2nd in Britain.
