1. Alonso did a 16 lap stint on option and Vettel & Webber 15 laps each other so could they go somewhere in the 20 lap area tomorrow in the first stint of the race and maybe Lotus guys will go somewhere towards a 25 lap stint with a single stop strategy?
2. With a prospect of a wet race but not raining could they be allowed to race tomorrow or the spray of water raised by the tyres forbid them to do that?

We'll see in qualifying but I think supersoft-medium combination hurts Mercedes a bit. More compromises when it comes to race and big time difference between compounds. If it was medium-hard (example) they would be closer. Korea might be slightly interesting - v. different track, same combination.

It still looks like Vettel pole to me.

Red Bull quite comfortable in Q1 without SS.

Merc were foolish to waste a set of SS in Q1...

but somehow get away with it

Looks like the championship is over.

Red Bull aren't even have to compete for grid position anymore.

You have to be amazed at the technical team Red Bull have set up.

At the start of this year and last, they were in the middle of the front runners, but again from the end of the European season they extend their dominance. This year, with Vettel at the wheel, they are again a mile ahead.

I don't even understand Webbers pace relative to Vettels.

Exactly. I am very much amazed by Red Bull Racing as much as I am annoyed really. It's been a long time since Webber's top form is over so I am not really surprised that he can't get the full out of the car.

Rosberg came close but Hamilton looked lost. It was in stark contrast with his q3 lap from last year.

Track really evolved a lot in the last couple minutes, so Vettel possibly had at least 3-4 tenths in hand.
