Do you think the Jerez front wing is the final front wing for the car ? I say this because it's the same than in 2014 and it seems to me it's very different of others front wings in others teams. In fact it's composed by 2 large flat surfaces and after there is 2 small and slim wings. It's very different from Mercedes or Red Bull who have many surfaces (6 or 7 ont the end of the wing) isn't it ?

Yes, it will definately change. Even putting aside the fact that it is way underdeveloped, the first and second tests are all about reliability so teams usualy run some last year parts, not to unneceserly waste time on producing the new ones

Expect teams focusing on long runs this test is Barcelona, at next we will see actual race parts
It's been a long time since we drove last time, but it has also been a short time at the same time
Roam Grosjean ponders the passing of time on the first day of testing at Jerez

It's surpirsing that Lotus has so small cooling exits this year ! Probably smaller than Mercedes or Williams I think !

Very interesting that Lotus isn't using the log type exhaust with the Mercedes PU. I wonder if for some reason Mercedes themselves aren't using the log in 2015..

Wasn't there already a statemend from Andy Cowell that Merc doesn't use the Log Exhauste in 2015 anymore?

They definitely would have more power this year with that alone..
I guess they realized that in that area they had sufficient airflow underneath the engine cover and could go with a well packaged manifold.

I believe once the manifold is well insulated it should keep the thermal benefits of the log manifold.

And correct me if i'm wrong, but it could be possible that Mercedes does not permit any modification to any part of the PU, such as the exhaust manifold. Any deviations would just mean less correlation across data collected by the customer teams.
For Sure!!
