Yes, definetly lots of downforce reduced hehe. 8)

two front wing moves, probably one in an "overtaking" mode and the other to set it back to normal, e.g. allows the car to be setup for one overtaking maneuver per lap.

pretty cool if so - drivers would need to be smart about using it and would need to time it right too (both times).

Thanx for all the info guys. But i wonder the removal of barge board might create turbulence. The main functionality of the barge board is to direct the air towards the rear of the car and 2 the diffuser. But if the barge boards are removed then there won't be a smooth air flow to the diffuser which might increase turbulence.

Guys am i right?let me know if i am and is there any other way to counteract this.I guess it might be achieved by wider front wing. But i am not sure.

And there is also something called the balance shift will be 1 percent to the front rather than 4 percent to the back as it is now.

what exactly is balance shift? Is it the aero balance ratio of the front to the rear??

For the bargeboard i'm not sure the barge will be banned, i think it is the vortex generators on it.

The purpose of the main bargeboard is to slow air into the inlets.

If used as a director then the bargeboard is necessarily a vortex generators. you can't direct air at distance using laminar flow because laminar flow by definition stay attached to the surface is flows onto.

You need turbulent flow that have high inertia to go in the direction you wanted.

As for the center of pressure this is the aerodynamic center of pressure yes.
Before, because front wing was heavily downloaded the rear wing and diffuser were the most important downforce generators when following a car thus the center of pressure moved backwards.

Now it suggests the front wing and rear wing will have the same decrease in downforce retaining a good balance.

So F1 will be not fastest formula and champcar will be faster and maybe GP2 car too :)

When are we going to see the computer controlled "shimmering" of real-time wing adjustments?

2 per lap? WTF? So you are limiting how many passing attempts per lap by doing this?

All I see from this is that:

Option 1 will be set to help overtaking while option 2 will be set to prevent being overtaken.

It is going to end up exactly where it is now unless they increase the viability of off-line racing. Once that is accomplished, passing attempts will greatly increase, but not cause 300 passes per lap.

Increasing you flap angle means you loose max speed, the only way to have a benefit is to be in the slipstream of someone I.E overtaking.

I understand what you are saying, but that would only be true if your engine couldnt overcome the added drag... I would imagine courses like Monaco would allow for a steep flap angle with little loss since the cars are grossly overpowered for that course as it is...

Yes, slow speed corners, corners that cannot be taken faster because of lack of downforce can benefit from this measure, only one time, and that doesn't prevent the following car to overtake since he will experience a better acceleration anyway.

when the 2009 "anti-winglets" was announced some time ago, it was released with it a drawing, which tryied to explain the rule's idea and functionality. I can't find that drawing anymore, can someone help me?

I have a feeling that wider front wing and narrower rear wing will make car look ugly :( - akin to mid 70s dustgrabbers...

current F1 carshapes are far away from the beautifull carshapes from 1991-1992-1993

and those cars had 0 winglets
