New development...

Link - New measuring process could lead to lower start tyre pressures
From today, pressures have been measured with the tyres in the blankets, at a set temperature, so there can be no outside influence to get the pressures up to the minimum.

"With this new system, to check the tyres before they are fitted on the car, we have a consistent system to measure it independent from the session," said Pirelli technical chief Mario Isola.

you waste too much time with negative things instead of supporting another driver, or simply enjoying F1.

Schuttelberg wrote:And why is it beyond the realms of possibility exactly?
Because they are nowhere there to challenge Mercedes. Anyone with half brain understands how Mercedes is manging the gap to Ferrari. Despite Ferrari introducing multiple upgrades on PU, they haven't come any closer. What does that say?
Schuttelberg wrote:Last year, Ferrari won three races on merit and have nearly won a couple this year. Or does it require your certificate of approval or merit of some kind?
There is a difference between winning on merit and winning while situations arising that pushes the faster cars out. Other than Malaysia 2015, the two wins that they had, has a bit of a drama behind it. Hope your memory would help there. If I had the authority to give certificate of approval, probably Ferrari wouldn't have been racing today.
Schuttelberg wrote:If your criticism is hurled towards the 'recent' times at Ferrari, then yes, they've not won a title in 7 years, hardly a disaster or a catastrophe.
Wrong. They have won just 5 championships in the last 15 years. In a competitive world, you are as good as your last year. For a team that has infinite budget, facilities and sponsorship, it's a HUGE shame to be always chasing another team. With such facilities and resources, probably a Force India would win a championship every other year.
Schuttelberg wrote:All we're trying to discuss is that this circuit might suit Ferrari and they could win the grand prix, which a lot of reputed publishers, journalists and people within the sport believe.
Aren't they the same reputed publishers, journalists and people within the sport, who said Ferrari is just closer to Mercedes by 0.2 Seconds?Huh. So far, the FP1 and FP2 results simply place them where they have been all year, which is hardly surprising.
Schuttelberg wrote:You absolutely have the right to contradict it, but to say Ferrari cannot compete with Mercedes and to make a 'joke' out of people that think so makes you come across as laughable and hilarious.
Laughable and Hillarious? That is the situation of a mighty team with unimaginable resources, who have been struggling badly. Let them perform and shut me down, instead of this verbal assault from fanboys. That would be the most ideal thing that can happen.
Schuttelberg wrote:And, by your logic, every team in the paddock should pack up because there's no point showing up. Mercedes should just race themselves and we can delete all other threads here and just speak about them? Would that suit you mate?
If not for money being dished out for SIMPLY participating, everyone else would have packed up, if they had to earn every single cent out of competition and if it was winner takes all. There are teams like back markers, who are simply happy to be there, nothing else.

A clean and honest assessment, by Horse's mouth....
VETTEL: WE DO NOT HAVE THE BEST CAR
Appology for your usual behavior? Why appologize now when this is what you bring to every thread that mentions Ferrari.
Unlimited budget you say?
The 2015 budget spent on F1:

1. Red Bull Racing = €468.7m
2. Mercedes = €467.4m
3. McLaren Honda = €465m
4. Ferrari = €418m
5. Williams = €186.4m
6. Lotus = €139.1m
7. Toro Rosso = €137.45m
8. Force India = €129.7m
9. Sauber = €103.25m
10. Manor = €83m
Where was your usual vitriol when Mercedes wasnt winning races? Why no vitriol for Red bull who are recent 4 time champions? Mclaren? Both Red bull and Mclaren outspend Ferrari consistently . Im beginning to think the post about a Ferrari running over your puppy might just be true : )

I'm a HUGE Nico fan myself, I started following him after he won the first four races this year! I'm a little worried though since the weather for this weekend is forecasted to be cool and wet like Monaco and Canada. ](*,)
Keep your fingers crossed.

Im interested to see if the new tire pressure testing routine will show its affects when engines are turned up and the playing field is level.

Apology is not for my behavior. It's for trying to hold off fanboyism, devoid of any practicality; coming here and keep dreaming of an unrealistic result in every single race thread. "I think Ferrari is going to win this one. I think Vettel is going to be on pole". Once again, Apologies for this nonsense in this race thread.

For Ferrari and Mercedes, these are just numbers for running the race team, not for the engine R&D and manufacturing unit. Similarly, Red Bull Technology center, which assists RB Racing has a budget which is outside of their race team. So if you want to be naive to believe these numbers, you are free to do so.

When was the last time I read a post here, while Mercedes wasn't winning races and their fanboys came here and KEPT BOASTING of how Mercedes is going to win the race, in every race thread? When has this happened about RBR? The only exception is Ferrari fanboys.
giantfan10 wrote:Im beginning to think the post about a Ferrari running over your puppy might just be true : )
If that makes you feel great about your limitation of imagination and if such a thought acts as a consolation for seeing a Ferrari lose every time, so be it. I would be happy about that.   But one thing I know for sure, as it stands, my puppy runs faster than a Ferrari.

I guess the usual thing will happen, when Merc is not sure about the performance due to rule changes...Merc will turn up the engine and crush the rest. This race will not give any good picture on that matter.

Did they forget to turn it up in Canada when it was under 0,2 (and perhaps should have been closer)? How much HP/s does this turning up bring anyway? Ferrari's engine is not far behind, I remember estimation (Amus?) of 10 HP, yet every time Merc is quicker 'turning up the engine' comes back, even after turbo fixes and tokens spent. 1st race - Q mode no one else has (except occasionally Red Bull) - 10th race - still the same.

Ferrari should not worry about Vettel's penalty they still have Raikkonen.

Power in the race is always related to the engine lifetime. Merc is very restrict on that and clearly the best ones in managing the lifetime with their settings. Last year they were so conservative, that Nico's engine had nearly a full Monza race of lifetime left, when they exchanged it.

Well, Hamilton's PU supply is not looking too hot at the moment...
Lewis Hamilton moves to brink of F1 engine penalties in 2016

Having suffered more technical problems than his team-mate so far this season, Hamilton has now reached the five-element limit for the MGU-H and turbocharger.
