How old were the tyres Lewis used for the last stint?
There are suggestions that he was put on an old set for the last stint whereas he had new ones available, something which would be quite puzzling.

7 laps old.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

And the moment he got close to Nico during that stint, his suspension suddenly became critical

And they can tell Lewis about "critical suspension", but they apparently aren't allowed to tell Nico his brakes by wire is playing up :wtf:

Probably because his brake by wire was not playing up. There is literally no other explaination.

Its much worse than the usual "both cars were affected" they usually feed us.

What kind of punishment does such driving from Nico Deserve?
What he did is very serious and should not be taken lightly. The least he should get is a 10 place grid penalty; the most a race ban.
Pascal should have a go in the car when Nico gets his race ban.

Because the charges are very serious and there is probably a lot of technical evidence to be analysed and then considered. If the 'brake failure' is being relied upon, evidence of it's timing, effect and the driver's reaction to it must be detailed.

It's either a very heated conversation, or someone is going to get a big penalty!

Wasn't Michael stripped off all the points in 1997 for a similar driving? Taking off someone, especially if that happens to be the championship contender, purposefully is against the code of conduct and should be thoroughly punished. The fact that he didn't turned his steering, when he should have done, is the biggest proof of the intent.

If there is no "brake failure", then Totto should be fined as well. The pace Nico was travelling at, i doubt anything was wrong with his car. He shot past the redbull and the back markers like greased lightning and kept out of reach of lewis till the last lap.
Had he not made that mistake over turn 1 he would have won. Brake failure is just a calculated way of covering up the fact that Nico did what we haven't seen in the sport from Senna vs Prost days.

Any historical documentation on that punishment for Shu or similar drivers?

That would be a huge windfall for Lewis, he could stockpile engines and take all the penalties in one race, like McLaren last year and essentially reset the championship.

You must have forgot about Pastor Maldonados inclusion in F1 for the past few years
