as I mentioned in the Merc team thread, the rule tweak last year allows Lewis to replace every component as many times as he wants in a race weekend and worst case he starts last. So, come Spa, he will most likely start last but pick up 2 or 3 completely new engines, and be fine for the rest of the season. At Spa, he would still probably finish 5th or higher, and thus not loose to many points.
Thats an interesting thought actually.
However he needs to get to Spa and he is already on 5 components in 2 areas. The last thing he needs right now is extra mileage.

Lewis fitted a new engine in Austria, any only has to make it through Silverstone, hungry, & Hockenheim. The motors were supposed to be able to get through six races each, so 4 plus an extra dozen laps is nothing.

Lewis did not do any extra laps anyway.

He (36) had less laps than Vettel (40), Kimi (38) and same as Verstappen (36). So all this extra laps talk is pretty much nonsense.

Outright lap record beaten.

And then they said: let´s make the cars 5 seconds faster.

2017 will be completely unreal

I've heard that before and then Vettel went off six times + twice on other corners during overtake lap ('14?). Every single time on purpose and gaining advantage and they didn't do anything. Although he was reported :) Expect full selectiveness.

PAL went off - time deleted
MAG went off the track twice during his fastest lap in Q1 - no penalty
VES went half a meter off the track at last corner in Q2 - no penalty

The question is did they go off track in those 3 corners specified by FIA?

PAL and MAG did, VES didn´t . But VES clearly gained time from going off.

Hamilton has had his time deleted for track limits at Copse. So the FIA is applying the "rules".

Charlie needs his bu** kicked. So, Max and Kimi get completely away with it and then they take Lewis's time from him?

To apply the rules on some corners and other not, its quite stupid. But yes, the time is correctly deleted. Rules, even when they are stupid, are valid for everybody.
