Hamilton's Pole lap...exceeds track limits at Luffield...time still stands. An absolute joke.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

To apply the rules on some corners and other not, its quite stupid. But yes, the time is correctly deleted. Rules, even when they are stupid, are valid for everybody.
Wasn't saying otherwise. I'm just rather annoyed by certain forum members who keep claiming FIA bias for the top drivers. This shows the bias isn't there at all.

Formula fail. The stewards did not apply any consistent judging at all. What a mess.

4. Vettel
5. Verstappen

Qualy prediction:
1. Hamilton
2. Rosberg
3. Ricciardo
4. Verstappen
5. Vettel
Nearly right :D

It seems that HAM has been with 4 wheels outside the track in his last lap too.
Let's see if they will apply the rule.

Luffield is an "allowed corner". One of the FIA's little inconsistencies.

Coulthard, in commentary, was saying that running wide at Luffield isn't really beneficial which is why it's not disallowed.

Implementation of track limits really beggars belief. I fail to understand why a zero tolerance approach can't be implemented on each corner at every track.

Charlie Whiting wrote:We will again be adopting a "zero tolerance" approach to cars leaving the track at turns 9, 15 and 18 during qualifying. Unless we are satisfied that a driver left the track at these points for reasons beyond his control, having been forced off the track for example, every lap time achieved by leaving the track will be deleted in accordance with Article 12.3.1.d of the Sporting Code.
Luffield is not one of the corners listed. 9, 15 and 18 are Copse, Stowe and Club.

They did not delete times of other drivers going wide at Luffield as well. There's no favoritism towards anyone...

A reminder too the quick guns behind a keyboard: right or wrong the rules, it's almost dangerous when people express their feelings without the appropriate knowledge..You can influence others 'ignorants' (RE lack of knowledge) too

Hey did anyone notice something weird with the timing?

As Hamilton crossed the line it showed him faster by .05
Then it changed to show him faster by .29

If you go 4 wheels off at 9 it means you carried too much speed through the corner, you barely lift through there in qualifying, you can gain 3 tenths on that corner alone by going flat out. Going off at Luffield actually slows you down because there's less grip on the green stuff. I understand 15 as well, but I don't understand 18, when the race director in WEC allowed people to go off the track at 18 but not at 15 nor 9.

He needs to share that info with the drivers because everybody was going there
