Mighty win by Hamilton and Mercedes, i think he wil be champion again this year.
To me it would be even greater than his 2014 championship win.

@fox: Is it too much to ask the driver to know that himself?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Do you know the resetting instructions Mercedes have for every possibility? If so, please divulge, thank you kindly.

in the press conference Rosberg said he had a gearbox issue... then hastily added "a very critical one ... if that's the proper word" ...

I understand it's something that's always been done, it just seems more obvious with the pirelli era.

With previous tyres it seemed that drivers could push lap after lap without worrying if the tyre fell out of its operating window, how hard they would push would mean how quickly they came to the canvas and had to change, not like current pirellis which yo yo between laps because after one fast lap it creeps out of its window, so a conservative lap is needed, then rather than fall off in ultimate performance they just go pop.

I call bs. His recovery says it wasn't that critical!

Rather than the switch do default mode blah blah, Ted Kravitz suggested several people from other teams claim that being told to shift through 7th is a slam dunk infringment of driver coaching.

Lewis go to no help in Baku!
Well Horner failed to say that Verstappen was given a Radio message to inform him of Rosberg's possible penalty.
This has massive implications on how Verstappen will drive. It is strategy and coaching all rolled into one, and would rob fans of a possible battle, with Vers dropping off the last lap or so.

If memory serves, that is specifically allowed.

- Track is so awful that even big performance difference make overtake attempts painful to watch: Hulkenberg on Massa, Alonso, later Rosberg stuck
- wet conditions added mistakes and incompetence but not much of racing - see start and ending for top four + Raikkonen.
- When Rosberg was stuck behind you stop watching and come back later when it's closer to possibility and more or less expected although not easy

Ted Kravitz just clarified things a little, aparently it is the last message Nico received telling him to skip through 7th gear. that is driver coaching and is a slam dunk penalty.

In the Bridgestone days, they were refuelling so the drivers knew they had X laps of fuel so only needed the tyres to last that long. Today, the tyre strategy is much more flexible so eking out tyre life is much more important. Also, the cars are much heavier so the tyres are working harder than they did back then too.

According to me there should be no radio system at all in the car.
No audio messages and no telemetry.
The pilot who knows how to manage his car, has an advantage.
The team who creates a easiere to manage car or a more reliable one, ha an advantage.
If the pilot does not know what to do, he pits and then the mechanics connect a cable and see what is wrong.
