I am highly in doubt, that this is a new front wing concept.
For 2017 we will have wider tires and wider wings.
I think this is the way to simulate those changes. They are increasing the front wing middle section and eliminating the outwash tunnel as a factor. Furthermore the tunnel will stay more wide at the new 2017 front wings.
For me this is a way to investigate how the flow will be shaped after (and between) the wider tires and bigger middle wing section.

I thought of that as well, and even though I wasn't following F1 back then, as far as I know that wing was a big flop.

But it would be unwise to draw any major conclusions from McLaren's new wing, it can be anything from a simple test of a concept to an exact replica of what they'll use next year.

its tricks with the light or they opened up the outer channel "under" cnn on the fw endplate

They definitely have sth. new at the brake ducts, saw flow viz at ALO's car in FP2.

Looks like "blocks" to reduce air intake size.

Fernando had bigger Brake Ducts, different shaped deflectors in front of them, different Brake Drums and no blown Axle, Button was on the traditional Setup.

My opinion is speculative, but it is possible.

We know that next year the cars will be much faster.

Faster cars require stronger brakes, and stronger brakes need more cooling, and those brake ducts seem noticeably larger.

Not really, the reason they will be faster next year is more downforce and higher corner speeds = less braking.

Exactly, fast in the corner but slower (or the same) in the straight due to the drag increase

In the 2017 regulations they have increased the allowable brake disc thickness. So maybe they expect shorter but more severe brake applications that result in more wear?
