BMW Sauber F1.07

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Didn´t know where else to post this picture:

Does someone knows what car is it, when was it raced or tested?
Driver? Anything?

Looks like Williams FW20 or 21.

Apparent absence of barge boards seem to point to 1999 FW21.
Then again, the sidepod and flipups look like the FW20.

The "M" on the helmet looks like Jorg Muller.

I don't think I've seen this pic before. There was an article on the Williams-BMW test mule in BMW Magazine way back when, but the car was white with IIRC blue pinstripes.

Edit: Sorry didn't answer your question. Car looks like a Williams-BMW test mule pre-2000. Obviously Jorg Muller is BMW's factory driver. I could be wrong about the white car though, because there was also a Williams/Michelin test car that was white.

Here you go: Jorg Muller in a FW21B, Michelin tyre testing. Click for more.

You may be right, cars look pretty similar (beyond paintjob and pic angle)

Here's an FW20, take off the barge boards and it looks exactly like the blue BMW test car.

I was about to say, I've seen that car quite a few times before. I thought it was a sort of FW21/22 hybrid, or interim car used as a testbed for the Williams-BMW partnership before they'd released the final livery at the official launch for 2000.

I could be wrong but that's what i vaguely remember.

We might be 'enjoying' the looks of such 'cleaner' aero in 2009. So that's pobably TF101 and TF109 too.
