Sierra, I should have added it was only Hamiltons character in his early years that I didn't like.
Recently, and especially this year I've been converted into a full blown fan.

Ferrari the stronger car here given the gaps to teammates.
I believe Vettel could have beat Kimi by more.
Everytime hamilton beats ferrari it's all him, never the car. Whenever ferrari beats mercedes it's all the car, never the drivers. #-o Vettel did a purple and 2 green sectors, him and kimi were neck and neck entire weekend, this was all there was in the car. Convinently you forgot mercedes held a vast advantage over ferrari in the recent races.

Bottas is simply bad and slow and has been for ages.
Only 1 driver since the turn of the turn of the millennium has won a WDC in a car that wasn’t a WCC winning car. Fancy a guess at who it is?

Ah yea that makes sense now! All youngsters have a way in their early years I suppose.

Ugh I have to go somewhere early tomorrow and that thwarts my plan of possibly staying up for the race lol.

Hamilton in 2008. In 2007, Ferrari won the manufacturer's championship. It's a bit fallacious though as McLaren were docked points for Hungary which would have meant they were second, but then had all points removed. Otherwise McLaren would have won the constructor's with Kimi the driver's. Then the answer would have been both Kimi (2007) and Lewis (2008).
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

The ball being dropped were the new updates which just had not worked and made both drivers struggle massively. They brought a big update to Austin and it seemed to have helped.

What I find funny is how all that drama about that mysterious second sensor was made.
Didn’t they take the updates off ? (Floor at least) as they couldn’t verify its performance Friday and didn’t want to risk it Saturday.
They took all the updates off. Even the ones they brought after monza. So they're essentially running a spa/monza spec car with some more aero added as this is a high DF track. This has to be biggest development flop ferrari has ever done, rivalling even 2011/2013 when alonso also said the car was worse in the second half of the season than in the first half.
this does not seem to be correct. They are running the floor which was introduced in Singapore, and the bargeboards and front wing from Sochi. Only the rear wing is from before the Singapore update, according to PG Tech

Well it’s a matter of opinion. I agree that the Ferrari was the faster car in 2007/2008 but the Sky commentators seemed adamant that the 2007 McLaren was the better car (imo it only appeared that way due to the drivers).

In any case, you could also make arguments for:
- Schumacher winning the 2000 championship when the McLaren was the better car - look at the 2nd drivers, Coulthard significantly ahead of Rubens
- 2005 the McLaren was certainly faster for most of the year, albeit more fragile, but Alonso still won
- some might say the Ferrari was faster than the Renault in 2006 too; my view is that it was pretty even and reliability eventually swung it in the last two races, but I can see the argument that the Renault was not ‘the fastest car’ for large chunks of the season

All of which is really just to say that your statement that only one driver has done it is fairly subjective. I personally agree that 2008 is a good example - no way Massa was that close to Lewis on pure speed - but it’s not that only one.

I just love to switch of the tv as soon as they finish all this nonsense with interviews after.
Sorry sky i dont do pre shows and after shows and whatever.
Haha, I'm the same - I just hate any kind of punditry, I switch on about 5 mins before start time.

Most of it is just mind numbing, today the Sky coverage starts 5.30pm for a 7.10pm race start, they have an hour and 40 minutes to fill with $#1t

Kimi is 5 km/h faster down the back straight compared to Hamilton :o
Also we saw Vettel going nearly 2 tenths faster though S1 which I thought would perfektly suit the Merc.

However the outliners need to be highlighted. The last 4 times are by Hamilton (once), Häkkinen (once), Schumacher (once) and Prost (once). Senna never even managed it. It’s only happened 10 times since the induction of the WCC in 1958.

You have to be top tier to generally (Rosberg Snr) pull it off. Before it’s mentioned Hamilton is hugely likely this weekend to become a driver who has to be classed as top tier after tieing up Fangio so it’s Relevent to this weekend.

Interestingly raikkonen was also faster on most of the straights comapred to vettel by some ~3kmh. Vettel running more DF?

Safe to say that the Ferrari is still mighty on the straights and Vettel lost Pole in the last corner. He is 3 tenths up before the S-Curves.

More like Hamilton almost lost it at turn 20 before the lap even started, then at turn 9 and 20 during the lap.
