Probably trying to increase the show by making the tyres misbehave and blister.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Nothing has changed basically since pirelli got into F1, so don't expect that anything suddenly will. Tires now have more grip after 7 years of development and increased width, but their construction and compunds are just as bad as they've always been. If anyting, 2017 tires being waaay too hard were actually the best ones they produced.

Lack of ambition to invest and improve by pirelli in this single supplier era is really taking a toll on racing in F1. I bet all my money if michelin got the contract their tires would already be a lot better in their first year of suply. Without question. Remember what people were saying in lmp, michelins are bulletproof, pirellis are cheese tires.

It does. Being spoon shaped it's got a deeper aoe. Also has more drag.

I've always thought it's different. Less df and less drag. Trying to achieve the best compromise.

Depends on the AOE of the flat wing comapred to spoon I think. Judging by the sector times they most likely did go with the higher DF.

Will Merc do a engine switch in order to prevent a DNF from Hamilton or Bottas?

Could better switch both engines now they have the WDC confirmed. Easy top 5 for both if they need to start at the end of the pack.
Everybody is a Ferrari fan.

Didn’t they fix that during FP3?

What I found weird was that Mercedes, well known for being relatively relaxed when it comes to car parts, built a wall with all available mechanics to avoid pictures during reparature.

They should give penalty for Hamilton because he almost crashed into Sirotkin.
