Leclerc just did a very encouraging 1:11.265. For reference, fastest in FP2 was Lewis Hamilton on a 1:11.118.

He was comparing Mercedes and Ferrari, not Mercedes and RedBull.

I thought we were talking about Mercedes' slow corner performance before and after the ribbed wheel rim and also this years slow corner speed performance of Mercedes

The fact is
a. Mercedes were not good in slow speed corners until they introduced the ribbed rim which put them closer to redbull who were the bestvin 2018
b. This year the have pioneered in the ribbed rim aswell as their suspension, which have leap froged them to the best in field

Leclerc for the win?
Ferrari looking more stable. The car may still be quite strong when the tyres are in the sweet spot.
Hamilton seems to be holding his cards to his chest. He hasnt done much running in fp3.
This race may just be very boring with the top 3 cars finishing in the top 6 and maybe torro roso fighting with renault for the scraps. Kimi and antonio battle for points should be interesting.

Looks like Mercedes had problem with tyre temp in FP3. This is actually in line with FP1 when they weren't much ahead of Ferrari. In FP2 they showed their real speed, so I suppose in quali they will bring out their pace.

But if this is true, it's a little piece of good news for the 2019 season. At least we know Mercedes has some weakness lol

Leclerc fastest time was set in the late stage of FP3. He managed to get advantage of the highertrack temperature and the track which gets better the more rubber there is on it. The Merc's were fast but didnt get the samr advantage as Leclerc get. My gues is that they didnt really try. So no imo a 1-2 for mercedes
