Scuderia Ferrari SF90

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

That looks like a lot more rear wing than the RedBull and Merc were showing in the Silverstone thread.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Isn't this a high downforce wing? I thought that would need less downforce at Silverstone

Silverstone's corners require a high downforce set-up at the rear with a looser front end as most of the corners are high speed so you want the rear to stick, except for the medium speed corners right after the left-right hander in the first sector which needs a balanced setup(Equivalent to France's third sector). The high wing means Ferrari are are confident that their car is fast enough on the straight line, so they can lose time in the first sector and gain it in the second and and third sector, knowing very well that the first sector will be problamtic for them anyway.

Are the rear ‘suspension-arms’ thinner as well?

Is that a new rear wing endplate? There is now a slot in front of the Mahle logo that was not there in the French GP update.

The new engine cover is built as a one piece only instead of two.

Doesn't seem different/modified in terms of airflow...

They pulled the logos off the cars and Ducati bikes for the rest of the year.

They inserted metallic parts into the floor to increase it’s rigidity. Quote out of Italian motorsport.com:

“At first glance the changes seem trivial, but the flow trend has been significantly modified also because the structure now seems more rigid as the load increases with increasing speed.”

Maybe they came to the conclusion that the flexing floor was disturbing the flow, leading to false simulation correlations.
