Very good race for Honda. Perfect reliability on the first place. And also think Spec 4 is starting to show teeth...Albon nad Kvyat were cruising among the midfield.

Albon didn't use the spec 4, according to Helmut Marko yesterday. Also not on Saturday.

that makes me wonder why.... because the excuse Marko used was "lame", HM: "we didn't think it would help us much from the back"
then why give Albon the penalty?
and why not using that engine to see what it can do?

i think they're is some small issue (mapping or something like that) they want to sort out frst and test the engine only on Kvyat's car ....

Yes, that was the only reason. They need a fresh as possible engine in Japan.

If you are in a battlefield and you got a new shine weapon that could give advantage over you enemies you use immediately your doesn't wait for ideal time because it won't matter if you are six feet under.the thing about racing is that you never know how things will play out all RbrHonda master plans about how the gonna juggle use engines in the poll fell flat ones Max binned it on first lap now they look like idiots they start at the back in monza 2 races ruined

Also, if you start on the back, there is more chance of an accident causing damage on the PU, and then you've to take penalties again. Better to try it with STR, and for RBR only taking the PU to the pool. And then use it at full at Monza without penalties. Anyway, it was the first race of Albon with the RB15 . Giving him an older less powerful engine, it's a way to test what he can do. And hell, he did awesome good.

the point is they took a penalty with Albon but not using the engine where he got that penalty for, and this has absolutly nothing to do with new shiny engine in Japan, because if you wanted to handle it like that you take the penalty in a previous race (sochi in this case) .... i know the track layout plays a role but i just wanna say this "shiny new engine excuse" is bogus, in Albons case .....

That battlefield is : Suzuka Japan.

They are still finetuning the spec4 Engine (or final testing that shining new weapon in your analogy).
Preparing everything for that event even including a "Suzuka Special" cocktail from ExxonMobil.

Give them time, so far so good Honda's & RBR strategy and tactics have worked out fine so far.

We shouldn't forgett..... this year is a transition year, everything they achieve/achieved this year can only be placed under "top-performance"

They was a slim chance Max could win the driver s championship all he needed to do was beat Lewis in spa . If he does that constantly theoretically for all races he could win it with a bit of luck and reliability issues from merc which plausible but with that retirement and lack aggression from Rbr Honda it will be extremely difficult.Max is incredibly fast I genuinely believed he could do it. They should have let him start at back and have faith Max will take care of the rest Austria and last year Russia showed what he is capable off

Don't show them you have a gun at all when a dagger will do the job, then they will be unprepared next time

I kind of think this what they are doing. Max is playing down any sort of performance for Monza, actually saying it will be a struggle. Mercedes is saying the same. Not suggesting they'll be the fastest, but I suspect stronger than they are implying.. they haven't been significantly down on power for the last 5 or 6 races and now with an introduction of a shiny new engine that is supposedly the biggest step forward for the year, they are talking like they are completely and utterly screwed. I sort of don't buy it... I think definitely down on Ferrari's speed but not much more than that, gut feeling they'll level peg with Merc. We'll have to wait and see and race pace will be interesting to see.

Honda Racing. We sat down with Christian ahead of the Belgian GP, however after the events of the weekend
our thoughts immediately turned to Anthoine, his friends and family.
Please enjoy this catch up now, as we head to Italy.
