Jalopnik.com, not the best source if you’re looking for something reliable, even if it’s only a rumour. They’re more (wild) speculation and (wild) fantasy, same category as judge13. But then again, you never know.dr_cooke wrote: ↑30 Jan 2020, 11:33https://jalopnik.com/mercedes-in-talks- ... 1841335988

It is quite possible. Merc sells the team to Wollf&Stroll while they keep the engine plant. They wont give the works deal to McLaren or Aston Martin. If this were to be true McLaren would be in a bit of a disadvantage because Wollf is such a integral part of Mercedes..anyhow well seedr_cooke wrote: ↑30 Jan 2020, 11:33https://jalopnik.com/mercedes-in-talks- ... 1841335988

https://www.skysports.com/f1/live-blog/ ... olumn-liveWorld champions Mercedes are not preparing to pull out of Formula 1, according to Daimler chief executive Ola Kaellenius.
Various websites reported that whether Mercedes should leave the sport as a constructor would be discussed at the next board meeting of parent body Daimler.
“Not true,” Kaellenius said.
Is not “other” reports... The only facts that we have is Ola saying that they are not exiting the sport... The rest is speculation and rumors at this point.nevill3 wrote:According to other reports,

It doesn’t mean anything. Aston Martin is a struggling company, and this is the rescue deal.
As long as Mercedes is in F1 as a team, there will be no Mclaren - Mercedes works deal... And there is no timeframe for Mercedes to leave the sport.genarro wrote:the news say that RP will become aston martin racing..what does this mean for a works mclaren mercedes deal in the near future? i know that everything is just speculation but..
Exactly. Financial Times just reported that Mercedes signed Ineos for 20 million pounds, which means their team can almost run in their current form without Daimler support. There is no way that they will leave. Wolff already said that they aren't interested in being a supplier.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 15:06As long as Mercedes is in F1 as a team, there will be no Mclaren - Mercedes works deal... So no, there won’t be a Mclaren Mercedes works deal in the near future.

Not at the moment because they've probably massively increased the spending for new regulations but in 2021 they could be making profits with current finances given the engine freeze & budget cap.RonDennis wrote: ↑31 Jan 2020, 16:15Exactly. Well, it's not like the others are sitting still.ThePapayaJaguar wrote: ↑04 Feb 2020, 23:30Mercedes still finding gains on the PU side! Most of us were thinking that they would plateau. Looks good for McLaren in 2021.
