Mercedes W11

djones looking to wind up the Ferrari mob. I can see LM10 foaming at the mouth already! Naughty person djones, naughty person!

Ah, and someone's downvoted you already! (not me, by the way, I'm laughing too much!)
yes i don't know why whoever it was can't just argue, i mean that is the idea on a forum! And it's not such an unfair point really, Mattia himself has said they're using less oil this year, and then I've seen stuff about HPP pushing the limits making big gains
All teams will use less oil, not only Ferrari.

oh well, yes fair point it's a rule change? but anyway personally i have huge respect for Ferrari's engineering and it's a great, fabulous competition with Mercedes. Ferrari were talking about coolant weren't they and now this is on Racefans:
“For this year we are putting significant effort into making sure that all the cooling fluids on the power unit operate at a higher temperature,” said Cowell. “This increases the temperature difference between that coolant fluid and the ambient temperature that we are racing in, which increases the effectiveness of the cooling system.
“That’s a tough challenge though, because large parts of the engine are made from aluminium and the temperatures that we are operating at mean the material properties are decaying quite rapidly. Managing that over an eight-race distance power unit cycle is a tough engineering challenge but that’s what we are striving for.
so bring it on :P

Very adventurous rear suspension!
I can see how it unlocks the aero performance envelope.
Is there any image covering this adventurous rear suspension?
Yes.

I don't like this balanced approach towards teams and drivers! It's not what we live for. That's not the purpose of life. If you can't fight tooth and nail for YOUR TEAM and YOUR DRIVER, please don't post.
yes sorry it's too long since i read Lord of the Rings and rosberg retired, i'm losing the plot on Good vs Evil

But seriously, all these cars are looking more awesome than ever, and W11 (see?!) has this delicious sounding triple whammy of front suspension/sidepod/rear suspension working together

Sidepods looks insanly small
And yet the car overall is insanely large, with an insanely long wheelbase.

These cars are so big now.

Shifting the upper crash structure downward has allowed Mercedes to bring the radiators forward and down.

I have to agree with this, it looks ridiculous, but more floor area gives more downforce, so I understand why they do it, when the regulations allow it

Looks that way. My take on it:

If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Will a predominantly red car lose to Mercedes in 2020. Definitely maybe. But not in this thread (there are Mercedes and Ferrari team threads for that, or even open up a new thread?). Thank you.
