The scaling in that comparison is off

edit: the coloured rings on the tyres don't line up, if you don't know what to look for

If you check, the part of helmet that Is out of the halo protection Is the same. the colour and the scaling makes some trick here

Apart from that the real difference May Be 1 cm

Need to remember that whilst Mercedes may have the lowest rake angle, having the longest car means the diffuser can be the same height from the floor. This means they are technically expanding more area just at a less aggressive angle.

But at the same time, while it's true they might be at the same height, having a steeper angle allows for a more aggressive upward expansion behind the diffuser. You can compensate by having a steeper diffuser angle, but I'm pretty sure that also comes with an increase in rear sensibility and flow separation.

Correct it's harder to seal consistently. So far it seems Mercedes potentially more stable route has made the car more drivable.

So they’re both the SF1000 but the left is with the test 2 update?

No that's the SF90 on the left.

Left one is SF90. While at first sight one might think that they’re fairly similar in packaging, a closer look shows that the SF1000 is clearly slimmer in sidepod area. Actually it’s slimmer from sidepod area up until the coke bottle area. The coke bottle of the SF90 seems to be tighter, but it’s just an optical illusion in my opinion as the engine cover of the SF90 is fairly brighter so it’s curves towards coke bottle area get narrower more aggressively.

After superimposing and scaling and aligning both images shows that the SF1000 is same at the sidepods levels but fatter in the coke bottle region (or am i seeing things?)

Yeah, I mean, visual impressions from above are that the one on the left is tighter.

I think this may derive from the shape though: from the side you can see how big the undercut is under the coke bottle on the new car, and this seems to be where the packaging focus is.

If you look at the widest part of the side pod, more of the floor is visible on the SF1000. Since the floor width hasn’t changed, the SF1000 is indeed slimmer.

If you're willing to seek some embarrassment, superimpose the Merc :D
