in the words of Murray Walker: "go go go"

EDIT: I corrected the video for the top speed chart.

(Sorry, for some reason YouTube defaulted to a "Private Scheduled Release", I can't see why anyone would want a private scheduled video, unless you have really bad memory and want to surprise yourself?????)

Great race! This year there is no weak team, all relatively close.

Congratulations to the winner 👏

Well, it was worth the wait. The video was propely made, very nice!

SPOILER ALERT

I don't want to delay celebrations, so yeah...that was a cool victory! I really wasn't expecting it in this track, given its characteristics, but the car performed beyond expectations.

Congratulations to CAEdevice and Koldskaal for their podium! And congratulations to all the other guys too, who are displaying very strong performance. Seems like a good premise for a nice championship.

Congrats, Richard should have said it was tight from 2nd down because you gave us a mullering. I must say I'm chuffed with 4th after my struggles last year, it finally feels like I'm getting to grips with the software but being so close to 3rd is slightly galling. Does give me something to aim at though!

I think the penalty warning for the engine being visible inside the cooling ducts is a bit harsh, after all it is shrouded by bodywork. I think last year my first car had the whole inside of the engine cover shelled without issue.

Congratulations to every one and especially to Variante. Great car as expected.

"This year there is no weak team, all relatively close"

Tell me about it :D

It is hard for me to understand, how on sector 1 I am P11, sector 2 - P3 , and drop down to last at the end. I mean, what conclusions do I have to make at the end.

Some big difference in the cooling results between my sim and the official race 2,64 vs 2,236 m^3/s

I just want to understand what I am missing.

Krasen

Congratulations to Variante but more in general to all the competitors! An unexpected 7th place made my day definitely happy!

Hi guys, I am wondering about how to send all the cars to you after the weekend. Dropbox is not really an option any more, as we have too many cars. I am wondering about Wetransfer. Does anyone know if this would work for us, has experience or a better idea? Thanks.
About this, I would really appreciate if you can send the case folder and the input files (if you modified them), as I am too curious if you did set up something differently from me, especially radiators.. I was completely shocked when I saw my cooling at more than 3 m/s

I noticed that the cooling flow of some cars (inlcuding mine) is 6.0 m^3/s: I am sure that I have a good cooling (above 3 m^3/s) but 6 m ^3/s is too optimistic :)

Nice work everybody. Was certain i was bringing up the rear but happy to move up a couple of places. Will be interesting to see the rate of development from those around me. Hope i can keep up.
Congratulations to variante!!

I just want to understand what I am missing.
The first two listings on the lap are not sector times, but speed traps... (the first one is an apex speed outside the Casino, the next one is straight line speed in the tunnel)... the final one is the lap time... I generally don’t do sector times because what we find is that by the end of the first sector the cars have pretty much already settled out into finishing order... doing speed traps leaves a bit of an unknown....

EDIT: HOWEVER, whilst that is true you have allowed me to find a mistake (I am using a new program to aid making the videos quicker... and alas, there was a rogue "-" in the one line of code).... which means the top speed calculation was incorrect... the amended results are below, apologies for that....

Image

So in your case, your car has pretty good downforce for a newcomer, but too much drag..... so at least you have a clear area to focus your resources, :-)

I completely forgot that the results are today.

congratulations for the winner - Variante did a nice homework! La Grande Machina! (I really hope no mistakes happened)
CAE and Koldskaal - performace high as always.

The whole grid is very tight, and many new teams present really nice pace. Great job for you all!

Now some news, that doesn't come with ease: I decided to withdraw from this year competition - therefore I don't mind if my results will be removed from the final standings.
There are 2 main reasons for that matter - the time, and the new MVRC car development. First is related to my work and I need a bit break from CAD after work, second is that new car is not even close to the old car (even though being "better" in many points). Seems like I would really need to fit to the calculations rather than lay on "being aerodynamicist".
I have tested some simple, but radical changes and it was really hard to find a way to continue with current concept.

Thanks to @LVDH and @machin for organization of this competition.
for sure I will follow the thread and if there will be some aero points I might place a word here or there.

good luck guys!

Congratulations to Variante and everyone, tight grid (apart from the lead). Not a bad result for myself apart from the 0.18 cop shift to front and a bit of extra drag. If we had a quali, i would dq'd for the next race so that is a bit worrying. Warning-penalty free weekend for my car is also a welcome sight :D

That’s a shame... you had a pretty good result..!

But I think we all appreciate that a lot of time and effort needs to go into running right at the pointy end, and sometimes other priorities in our lives take precedence... 😢
