@ the Ferrari situation... As said before the problem lies in the fact that FIA does not have the know-how nor the technology to prove that Ferrari was cheating YET. However the FIA can attain
the know-how at any moment as far as Ferrari is concerned, so that's why ferrari disabled the mechanism on the new engines going forward.
And again some guessing. Educated but just a guess.

Yes copying to prevent being caught out by a safety car, advantage over others is even bigger so not much of a risk.
it's difficult though. Mercedes probably doesn't want to split strategies between the two drivers at this point of the championship, and if they had gone for mediums with both as well, Verstappen would probably just have completed his lap on softs in the end of Q2. For him, it's not about having a per se better strategy tomorrow, but just to have a different one, which may lead to opportunities.
Good point.

With the midfield closer and a lot more cars(red bull up to renault), I guess they clear a lot less cars before their stop, so hope that spices things up a bit.

A guess worth a second a lap, times three.

Anyway. I am enjoying Lewis' champion's, immunity in these times! It used to be penalties every weekend when he was at McLaren.
And at the time what was he saying?

Now you know from where I get that - sarcastic - coment...

He is immune because he did nothing wrong. If anything, It was Bottas trying to pull a Rosberg in Monaco...

And.. there are many people who doesn't like HAM because he is rich, successful and black.

Really? I don't care if he is rich and totally don't care what is a colour of his skin - it means nothing. I just don't like him cause judges likes him way too much, frankly speaking.

So you don't like him because of what other people think of him?

He is not immune, his first q3 lap time was deleted, the yellow flag was not yet displayed.

...personal stuff removed.

Guys whats the predicted strategy for tomorrow? Since the midfield is so close to the front 2 (not three anymore lol), is it likely that it will be a two stop? Because if one team in midfield tries this strategy it could cause a whole train of people doing the same to undercut. Also the front two cannot control and stretch their stint like they used to do so they would be in danger of being undercut if the midfield teams pit early. Does this give Seb an advantage that he can stretch his tyres longer (especially if it is expected to be as hot as Saturday) and do a one stop (Medium-Hard). Or will everyone be conservative and stay on a 1 stop.

But where is the proof?
For some reason fans get stuck on the idea that Ferrari were cheating... There is indeed no proof they were outright cheating. They clearly found and exploited a grey area in the technical regulations in 2018 (which the FIA were happy with) and then went more extreme last year and exploited it even more. Other teams then questioned it and the FIA investigated (again). The design/system was likely so complex the FIA couldn't determine exactly what was going on but could determine enough of the system to decide it was operating outside of their interpretation of the regulations. Wanting to draw a line on the matter they settled in private and Ferrari had to remove whatever they had done hence their drop in power.

That is not cheating. That is the FIA clarifying their regulation interpretation which then happens to be different than Ferrari thought. Bit like the double diffuser for example. Or DAS. All comes down to interpretation of the regulations...

Even if it was provable, the records are in the books, the prize money paid out and bets collected, so it will change nothing

Yes definitly one stop..
Pitstop around lap 30 or so.
Max is on mediums but the mercedes has DAS.
And to mention that one lap pace gives them a big advantage on undercuts.

Max goes to soft will be an advantage if he can keep those mediums from graining. Pressure from Racing Point might force him to push too early.

The alternative is that between last year and this, Ferrari just completely forgot how to build and engine and really are that bad. Which one do you think is it? Bad or got caught cheating with "no proof", this isn't voodoo, it's one or the other.

We had a long long long back and forth of this no proof nonsense, high drag, every excuse under the sun. Today however we're left with only two possibilities.

Which one do you think it is?

It should be a fascinating chess match tomorrow. Will also be good to see how the teams' long run pace holds up. Really looking forward to the race!
