it's correct of course, that different components, setups and so on (compared to Austria) will have an influence, but I'd say the fact that Red Bull was quickest in the slow corners (more of those in Hunagry) and that Mercedes gained most of their advantage at the end of the long straights (none of those in Hungary) due to more efficiant ERS, at least makes it reasonable to believe that it's gonna be a lot closer at the front.
*Red Bull was marginally quicker in the SLOWEST corner (singular) of the Red Bull Ring, which is turn 3 (~72 - 75 km/h min. speed in dry qualy), in the borderline slow turn 4 (~113 - 118 km/h) Mercedes already had the upper hand in both race's qualifying...

And then there was the Barcelona winter test, where Mercedes' long run low speed performance (T5, T10, T12, T14-15) was comparable to Red Bull's....

... hot lap attempts.

last weekend in FP2 Verstappen was quickest in turn 3, 4 and 9, but sure, it may not be totally representative due to different modes used and so on as well.

I'm not saying Red Bull is the favourite, but I'd still think Mercedes will not be ahead by a margin like in Austria

Mercedes should dominate here. I am predicting 4 tenths in qualifying. And 3 tenths in race pace.
Pole to flag victory.
And DAS what I'm sticking with!

Nah, if their single lap advantage was already around 6 tenths on a dwarf track like the Red Bull Ring (Valtteri couldn't finish his final lap), with The Bulls' upgrades and setup optimization for week 2, let's say they would have been ~4 tenths clear in a dry second qualy, then I would expect them to pull at least 60 hundreds clear on the Hungaroring.

Bet on? :P

Using DAS to prep the tyres on the formation lap, leading to being able to break the 1s DRS window on the opening lap/safety car restarts will prove to be the true power of the system.

Why? What's the point of sticking him in the car and taking time away from the real drivers? It's not like he is a future talent that they're bringing on and want to give some experience. Sadly, his rallying accident ended his F1 career.
If Kimi ends up replacing Sebastian at Ferrari mid-season (for whatever reason), Kubica would need to step into his seat.

The more Kubica is in the car, the more likely it is for Seb to leave Ferrari before the end of 2020.
thats a bit of a reach surely

DAS ist falsch.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

If every team is putting it's maximum downforce on the car in Hungary I'm curious to see how much time the other engine manufacturers are losing out to the Mercedes engine on the straights.

Ricciardo seems to be out for blood on the Stroll pass. I don't think I've ever seen him this vocal in the press before about something.

Rightly so, it was a pathetic move.

The only way Stroll could even get alongside Ricciardo was by going so fast he couldn't make the corner. In fact, 'couldn't make the corner' isn't doing Stroll's ineptness justice. He missed the track so badly he probably had to buy a ticket just to get back into the race course before he was allowed to rejoin the track.

I'm actually very glad this is being discussed because if it's legal then what does that mean for F1? It was an utterly ludicrous decision that, as far as I can recall, is completely without precedent. Is there any example of any overtake in the modern era that is similar to this one that didn't end up with a driver getting penalised?
