For now i mean...on the picture above. What is the purpose of these slots by the way?
I think they reduce the strength of the tip vortices (counter rotating vortex pair) from the wing, in order to reduce drag?

Probably costs some downforce as well, which is why Red Bull went back to the other design for Hungary since drag is not so important here? :?:

If that photo is at the same spot and same conditions, the difference in tip vortex strength is staggering! :D

Anyone else amused at how much monkey-see-monkey-do there still is at this level?
Yep, nice Haas rear wing end plate on the Red Bull.

The car is so unstable in low-speed corners! Was watching Max in FP3 and the way the car goes off instantly without any warning whatsoever is just scary!

So after all it seems like it wasn't just Max trying to find the limits of the car in preseason testing!

Has this kind of problem to do with aerodynamic stalling or is it something mechanical like too much engine braking??

He complained about a lot of understeer on the fast lap attempts.

I said this a few pages ago, but seeing RBR still back-to-backing upgrades with previous specs last week in Styria was a worrying sign that they were lost on development.

Maybe they will look better with the AT01. Maybe they should swap cars between teams during night, and do a fast paint work... #-o

They took a big risk this year, new front and rear suspension, doesn't seem to be working though. :?

Red Bull Racing RB16 rear wing flexing at the Styrian Grand Prix, quite noticable

Looks like the entire wing together with the endplates are flexing backwards

At AMuS (https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/for ... arn-quali/) Helmut Marko is quoted:

"Red Bull sports director Helmut Marko showed understanding for his pilots: "Unfortunately, the problem is difficult to understand. The only thing that is clear is that the error has to be in the area of the chassis," said the Austrian in an interview with TV broadcaster Sky. "Some part of it doesn't seem to have the correct strength. Something twists and causes the flow to break off. We thought that we would get to the bottom of the problem with the conversion. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case."

It seems as they think it is in the area of bending of aero parts, or chassis stiffness.

I think that will be pretty much the same for all teams. All teams have endplates that are only continuous at the front to achieve this, and I see nothing specific on the red bull wing to exaggerate it.

re-uploaded the video, now with reference to rear suspension compression by downforce as well that would reduce rake angle and all the other downforce elements although floor proximity and ground effect definitely much higher as all the side elements would become even more effective

Have a look at the shark fins position in relation to the upper edge of the rearwing on that video. You can see that the whole car squats a lot on the straights, but the wing is flexing a lot less... So it seems that RedBull is trying to reduce drag by keeping the heave spring soft and squatting the rear.

They have been doing that for a long time now, it's part of what makes the high rake (in corners!) work on the straights as well, when you get it right like Red Bull have been doing over the past years.

Not sure the rear wing is just the Red Bull, perhaps as you say it is partly an optical illusion from the rear-squat that makes it look bigger, but, guess we will see when the FIA does manage to improve the test to be more like on-track conditions.

If you are referring to the video, the camera is mounted to the chassis, it angles down as the car squats, so definitely not an optical illusion.

The upper control arms create a vortex that gets stronger as the suspension compresses.
