Super high downforce! higher than in Monaco! Interesting...
I also went for quite high downforce (which promotes efficiency). Maybe engine settings should be revised...

Without being harsh, I don't think any of us are producing enough downforce to require a low downforce set up

You are not that wrong about that. As the cars have a certain base drag, additional down force does not add that much too it, making it a bit hard to develop a low drag car. The rules planned for this season, that will get delayed for next year, take car of that to a good extent. I did quite some investigations before I decided to rush the season start. They show that the cars can be improved quite a bit, but the rules play a big factor. Next year, we should see more realistic results.
Anyway, here are the designs of the Italy race:

Nice and smooth F1 style sidepods (and bargeboards) from AGR. It'll be interesting to see how they fare.
And cool concept from TF, with that delayed radiator intake. I'd be great to compare it with other layouts using the pressure pics that we won't get O:)

Hopefully less draggy

Just gave your case the wrong name, the image is now present on the challenge page, which I brought up to date the last few weekends when I found a few minutes of spare time, in case nobody noticed.

It looks like all simulations are done and I can wrap this race up. Here is a list of the teams that have been simulated (some are running their previous car), please shout, if I missed yours:

Hi guys,
I just updated the homepage with scrutineering and cfd results. CAEdevice did a Ferrari move as it seems. His race at home is already over. Somehow I have a feeling that Italy will be happy tomorrow nonetheless.
Here a gif of the CFD images:

I am surprised about the legality check, which is the problem exaclty? Dimensions? Position? Honestly it is not a great iusse, because Variante designed such a incredible car this year. Anyway I am surprised: after the penalty of the previous race, I double checked everything.

Edit: 180000mm2 rule... that was the problem.

By the way: does rule 5.1.2 "deleted" mean that we can rotate the hxs in any direction?

OK, so the race will be live at 13:00 CET on Sunday....

Can anyone get close to Variante at his home track?

Yes, you made the HX and the engine inlet too small. Two issues like this bought you the penalty.

You wish. The text behind the first sentence has been deleted.

Everyone should set their alarms to the race start, thanks to the track layout and drafting it will be a close one...

Close one for the podium, surely not for the victory 😂
