McLaren MCL35

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I enhanced it and upscaled it. We can see a lot of detail now

Neither car has the new nose so far in FP2. I guess the plan to race it were scraped.

The nose is part of a bigger overall package, it probably doesn't work with the existing one further down stream. They were just testing it to validate their wind tunnel data before committing to it for homologation next week.

Siedl just said on air that nose comparisons continue and the decision will be made tonight after analysis

Yes, it is back on Norris's car again. They are just testing at the moment.

Don't take the picture of the crashed car as a reference. For starters, it might be messing around with your brain seeing that much empty space. And also the rear crash structure was damaged. The floor might have snapped somewhere at the back and lifted the diffuser up a bit.

Nevertheless, this car has a high-rake philosophy anyway as it's an evolution of last year's car concept, which had it as well.
