If Alonso is given the chance for only one full beans, hard on the paint lap with the R25 he will decimate the current cars

That is, if the tires they use are actually good and they run totally the engine totally unrestricted

He did a 1:43 lifting, braking early and barely pushing

I wonder how that R25 doing a flying lap in Fernando's hands would compare to current F1 cars.
It would be slower by several seconds.
Why that much?

He seems like he did a high 1m39.xxx or low 1m40.xxx

With the hybrid engines, they have robbed away everything that was F1. The Sound. It's so irritating to hear the vacuum cleaners week in week out.

i think we had enough of this eco warrior-road relevancy slogan of F1

there’s no doubt the R25 has taken all the attention this weekend. It is very true that qualifying wasn’t as entertaining as watching this thing go by

To be honest, I was surprised how soon the sound wore me down.
When I hear it first I grinned and said, yes, that it. But quite soon I realised it one of those sounds I want to hear some times, but not hour after hour.

The timbre of the sound is wonderful, but if they come back, hope they have some sort of moderation fitted.

(right, off to hide in the shed now in case anyone knows where I live)

This IS F1. Nowadays F1 is just big "Prius" on steroids. Dead end street.

That Renault looks beautiful under the lights. It looks agile and punchy. Today’s cars are too big to look anything like it. Halo robbed a lot from aesthetics as well but it is now a vital part of a racing car as seen before, most recently two weeks ago.
Anyway,
Great lap from Max today. The top three order looks good for an exciting race. Hope it will be a nice end to a mediocre season.
