Anyone get the impression that there could be a Honda u-turn if they have an amazing season?

It’s so nice to see their proper branding, it’s bold and confident and they’ve improved loads.

I doubt it, not after how they were shafted last year with the technical directives aimed at hobbling them last year.
Think that was the final straw.

I think after Ferrari got shot down they then helped the FIA however they could to try and take the other manufacturers down with them, and there's a good chance whatever "tricks" (apart from the fuel flow one) Ferrari was using weren't exclusive to Ferrari, so all the TDs that came out through the off season were aimed at multiple manufacturers

I am far more worried about the engine than I am about the chassis. I am confident in Red Bull’s ability to build and develop a chassis that can compete with Mercedes, but if the engine is inferior then there’s nothing the boys and girls at Milton Keynes can do to compensate for that.
Red Bull chassis worthy of competing with Mercedes? Maybe in 2018 and prior but from 2019 with the tyre gauge change Mercedes chassis/aero has been untouchable. In 19 Red Bull were close but they weren't better than Mercedes IMO, as Monaco qualifying/race showed. 2020 I think Mercedes had a way better car than Red Bull, that's after discounting engines, and I don't see how they'll have closed that gap over 1 winter, they'd have to rely on Mercedes taking a step back

As for the engine, Honda say they've surpassed Merc 2020 level but I highly doubt Mercedes would have stood still and they say they made big changes to the PU, Motorsport Italy reporting as much as 30HP for what that's worth. Red Bull are behind on both fronts imo but the track should reveal all in 2/3 days time

Apologies for the noob question, but Do the teams use the same car and engine which they used back in testing? Or do they have 2 totally new cars for both the drivers? Also, if they do use the testing car, who gets the old car- Max or Perez?

This will probably vary from team to team. I suspect the test car will be used again; it would be a waste of money to build one car and then only run it in testing. As for who gets it; that's anybody's guess.

but engines they take 2 total new ones. They don't reuse the test engine.

From the MCL35 thread, they have build 2 new chassis and the testing one is now the spare
