Mercedes AMG F1 W03

anyway it's a good car, i am sure they will implement mclaren/redbull/sauber style exhaust, and do some overall aero and suspension tweaks. guaranteed top 2.

He didn't say 'too aggressive', he said it's 'very aggressive'. Big difference. Also, MB made a conscious decision in playing this sound-bite. I'm sure it's all a mind game with the other teams wonder how it works.

I agree as I did listened to that while watching it on TV. He also said, he needs it to be "smoother", for which his engineer said, "copy that".

Schumachers's Q2 lap?

anyway just noticed in the video that he switched off the DRS a good 50 meters before the braking point!
why is this happening?
He doesnt have any problem activating it way early and switches it off rather prematurely
Is it because of their new system, which needs more time to reattach air flow?
Is this why he spun off?

or are they just hiding their topspeed?
I noticed that is S2 is most of the fast sweeping corners they had DRS open so that is why their S2 time was out-standing. The car is poor in traction & also behind the Mclaren/Red Bull is Fast Corners. The DRS masks it,I think Mclaren & Red Bull/Sauber's exhausts are much better. But Traction & Mechanical Grip are bigger issues. The car is atleast decent downforce wise.

Afaik is all radio communication between the pitwall and the drivers unscrambled. The FIA is the one that releases the sound bites. The teams have no control over it at all.

That's why the teams speak a lot of code on the radio. Like RB talked about tire phase 1 and so on.

Isn't that same for everyone?

The speedometer graphics are out of sync with the video by about half a second which would explain that, plus explains why he appeared to be able to activate it so early.

Compare the throttle guage to the engine note, in to all the corners the guage drops off well before the engine note changes.

that rear end swap looked like too much rear bias on the brakes -he lost the car the instant he hit the brakes .This can be artificial due to loss of rear downforce methinks.

Agreed. Schumacher in his first career always liked plenty of rear brake bias IIRC

The easiest explanation for blocking rear tires would be a mis-shift, if he shifted a gear to much down rears are going to block or that was a technical gearbox issue which later evolved in broken gears in the race.

Just an idea.

"Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn hits out at rival teams' exhaust designs"

in my post earlier i posted image where i suggested they should redesign rear body lower and revise exhaust so it flows to the diffuser. it ain't hard

Image

the current one is to much in the front and it pushes the exhaust gas up in the air, not on the rear
