Obviously testing the strength of Verstappens hand. Pretty sure he put some 800 kg of pressure on the wing by touching it.

I told you. It’s going political. The show is more important than the rules. This is nothing to do with MaFIA. Just like when Red Bull wings were found to not conform with the regs during their back to back titles, the FIA have them a pass instead of disqualifying them from their titles.

This is different but they’ll be skewed with similar principle; they don’t want to derail tight championship that is moving views and tickets.

They should disqualified the McLaren drivers in 2007 but Bernie made sure they didn’t destroy the show and only disqualified McLaren from the constructors.

I wonder if it will ever come to light if they were silently disqualified from the drivers through more underhanded means.

What a joke FIA is. ALONSO was damn right when he says whole UK army and maFIA will fight till last breath and make it hard for verstappen. This is binary decision wing test failed or did not fail. Even if it was ferrari decision would be out by now. This is plain disgusting. Shameful.

Verstappen touching the RW was a potentially massive mistake on his part.
It would be hilarious if it was something as simple as a damaged drs actuator, but it can't be held against them because someone outside of the the team or the FIA "handled" the car!

Mercedes would be claiming that verstappen caused this damage by touching else wing was right and would not have opened this much :)

Not everything is designed to work under compression.

They're searching for the way to keep Hamilton P1, nothing to see here

I’d be surprised if his touching damaged the wing. Is it really contravening the rules to touch a competitors car in parc ferme? Probably a reprimand at worse?

Yes, that’s the point of parc ferme. No one touching/fiddling with the cars.

Irrespective of what happens to Max, Merc can argue someone wrestled around with the very part we are being investigated for. And it’s on camera.

All the stewards have to say to Mercedes is prove that Max changed the wing by his actions. If they can't prove that by 2moro then DSQ.

It's all on video too, Max checked his wing, did the same to Lewis's. Max's passed the test, Lewis's failed.

Wow, just had my shopping delivery and packed it away etc, then found out all this has happened!

This is ridiculous, surely Mercedes would have known if it compiled with the rules or not, and wouldn't have run it if it didn't?

The waiting until tomorrow for a judgement is even worse! If it doesn't meet the requirements then it's simple to say or not surely?

Sorry but this whole thing is a farce, unbelievable!

Aren't there multiple instances (on video!) of Vettel touching competitors' cars with absolutely no consequences?

I feel like Mercedes would be *really* grasping at straws trying to get Verstappen involved here, so I don't think the decision being postponed until tomorrow has anything to do with this.

I think the burden of proof would simply be that Merc passed the test before, and failed after another competitor touched the car.

I have never seen VET touch another car. Only look. At least from my memory.
