If they have compliance issues in the suspension, plus dealing with a couple of other problems… hard to say. If the platform isn’t stable due to softness then even running low will make you pay.

Crazy.

The McLaren just brings these tires up to perfect temp window faster/easier?

Lots of chatter about something being wrong with LEC's car

Ham's first stint was horrendous on the used softs. He was catching up to Lec in the second: was this a case of different tyre usage or leclerc's issues? What problems did Ham have?

I do wonder. Charles said the setup was extreme. This sounds like some workaround to bring the car lower and get it to work without grinding off the plank. It may have been a compromise to the China setup.

I think Leclerc was pushing too hard at the start. He was actually closing on Norris.

Leclerc was slower than Lewis on his last medium stint, all while having gained like 14 seconds on him before that. So whatever Leclerc was dealing with seems to have hit him much earlier than anything Lewis dealt with.
Leclerc third stint was bad, he was getting caught by Russell and Hamilton was also gaining on him...
They were on softs vs medium.

I rewatched the entire race and i think i got a decent understanding of what limited Ferrari yesterday.

1 - Higher rear tyre wear compared to some of the competition: you can see Leclerc hitting a massive cliff in both stint 1 and stint 2 where the car just start sliding all over the place due to the rear tyre being completely gone. Hamilton last stint (before SC) you can see his times going up quite quickly after 5 laps (from low/mid 1.18 to 19.3 and saying to Adami that his rears were starting to go already)

2 - Lack of competitiveness with low fuel where the driver couldn't push at all, probably related to excessive plank wear fear

Why Ferrari had bad degradation ? They never had so far this season ?

Yep which usually doesn't happen. I think they didn't expect so much tyre wear on the medium.

I feel like when the car is in its most optimal state and in the optimal conditions, the Ferrari is probably within a few tenths of Mclaren in race pace. But that's still a long way off in reality, and worse is that Mclaren's advantage only grows in basically any other situation because their car has like three times the working window of anybody else on the grid so basically never has any situation where they struggle.

So Hamilton had floor damage and the second problem is the team adjusted his front wing at one of the pit stops without consulting with him. That threw things off.
They still have to work on trusting each other.
Maybe the data is showing an adjustment is needed because the car's balance is poorer when the fuel burns down. If it's a standard thing, maybe ask how many clicks he needs first.
Note: I cannot verify the source. Saw this news on another site.

Does any one have any detail on the change to the FW the FIA required?
