Sandbagging = deliberately appearing to be slower than they really are.

This is normally done to fool competitors. The phrase is meant to imply adding sandbags to the car to make it heavier & slower (though nobody would actually do that) ...

MSC did a 1-23.3 on Softs on a 1 lap run. Hope it was a used soft or they HAD much more fuel because did a great time with Hards on a long run.
