Depends on main quali. He won't make the same mistake of going out early and only giving himself one chance at it. They have the pace to get through Q1 and Q2 possibly even on one set of tyres. He'll be back at the fighting for the front rows I suspect..
Is it confirmed that it was George’s decision?

It wouldn’t be the first time that the “silver strategist” made a mess of an open goal…

Not the best result, but I’ll take it. Antonelli drove really well today! Seems like he really is the real deal.
You could see it last year in F2. He can do those things with a car that only the real good ones can. Special overtakes and really incredible pace. Last year that was at times only but he is still very young.
Congrats on your first pole. Be it for a sprint. Good that merc gave him the chance.

Not confirmed but he could/should have said no.
Apparently the team thought they had time to refuel and go again.

They really seem to have an issue with timing.

Hehe...kimi was such a brilliant replacement for lewis. That's why toto didn't care about lewis leaving...he has the next prodigy with him already

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it's raining and Kimi is on pole so...idk you guys do the math.

Kimi was so unlucky here, but my pessimism was indeed correct. We live and learn.

Yeah, he could've been P3 if it wasn't for RB blunder

What happened on lap one will be a good learning experience for him but the crash with Verstappen was pure bad luck, lost a potential podium by no fault of his own. That's racing but I feel bad for the kid, he was so excited yesterday and the podium would have been well deserved.

How would he have been P3? :wtf: He was behind Verstapppen physically and behind Hamilton virtually.

George cannot slack anymore, whenever he is not on his top form, kimi would be in his neck. It is obvious that this week Kimi is #1 driver.

With very minimal updates so far, Merc looks promising, I hope that Imola updates deliver, and Merc would be in the mix also.

Also chapeau to Toto, literally Mercedes saved ~50 million dollars in Lewis salary this year, and probably getting nearly the same similar performance. Sponsor-wise also didn't lose any big names or found replacements.
