Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I can't understand. If you DON'T want maximum air under the nose, why don't just make a simple low nose like mp4-27? this is ridiculous seriously.

Black for the sponsors?
Black to hide what they will work on during the year I think... They expect the race to be on the back of the car as many said in this forum.

Very impressed with those sidepods.

Even though the coke shape of the Lotus looks tighter.

I'm happy for the pull road.
they believe in this solution. with original pirelli 2013 tyres was better than others.
this year the lower chassis is a good thing for pr: right to go ahead with this solution

These car reveals are more boring that last year's. All we're talking about are noses. It's like the rest of the car is mundane.

I'd like to see some engine covers removed now. That'd be great..
For Sure!!

Sidepods are nice, pity about the placeholder front wing, wonder if they've got a different front end/wing to go on there and it's a bluff or whether that's just a wing for baseline setup?

Yes. I don't know why it looks so much bigger than the others.

But you do understand the impact of the difference of the regulations between back then and now ?!
If you have copious amounts of DF on the rear axle (DDD or EBD+ Beam Wing) a low slung nose can indeed be a good idea.
If you're struggling on the back anyway a low nose which will obstruct the airfllow at least at first glance doesn't seem as ideal.
Maybe they found the silver bullett on the back of the car (I doubt it).

If that nose is indeed the real thing then everything anybody said about the main targets concerning the nose prior to the launches was plain wrong - or FER got all wrong.

Do they have two outlet channels right above the exhaust exit? If yes, where are they coming from?

We can't cast judgement on this nose, as it. In simple reasoning we think it's worse, but we have no evidence of that.
This nose may as well be the best design.
It will definitely be putting more down force on the top surface.

The purpose of the high nose is for mid body down-force, it's not for front down-force like some think. It's to get more air on and around the splitter area.
For Sure!!
