Ferrari F14T

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Could this be the goal?

Yep, mentioned it couple of posts above you. Maybe they try to push some exhaust gasses down the diffuser.

I would guess that the small sidepods are proof of the air liquid intercooler.

The image isn't perfectly aligned; the right half is positioned too high or somewhat distorted. The F138 was at 625mm max height, but the picture makes it seems the F14T has a higher chassis.

Looks like some aerodynamic design on the nose camera's, compared to the McLaren MP4-29. I thought the camera housing was of prescribed size and shape?

Just realized that perhaps the intakes might be even smaller than the f138 had, pretty amazing in my view, I think Ferrari has reasons for that nose, we might not know it yet, but that concept could be worth a second or 2 in a lap [-o<

Anyone else realise this is easily the ugliest F1 car of all time?
F1 car width now 2.0m (same as 1993-1997). Lets go crazy and bring the 2.2m cars back (<1992).

It seems they are definitely banking on making the air slide to the sides of the nose.

Looks hideous but I'm assuming they know what they are doing. This cars philosophy seems to be different than all others seen so far;

-in wash front wing
-pull rod front suspension

Maybe for this car, this is the best nose solution.

Or.....maybe this is a fake nose.

Who nose? I'll reserve judgement on all cars until they are on a track.

But damn is it ugly.

No, but it's as good as we can do it. The camera was closer down to the ground.
Similarly, the top view this year was shot with the camera a little bit more towards the front, making it very difficult to do a proper comparison.

Of all cars seen so far, I like it. At least it's different
