Haas VF16 Ferrari

Post

This the official car topic about the 2016 Haas F1 contender, the Haas VF16 Ferrari. This thread will handle more stringent rules:

-Absolutely no livery talk in the car topic. Liveries are by nature topics assigned to the team thread, and should be discussed there. Posts about liveries in the car thread will be removed.

-Discussion about the car's hardware only. No discussion about the laptimes (should be discussed in the testing or race threads; test thread is here: http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=23795). No speculation or rumors towards future features of the car; no speculation about the competitive performance (car beats car B but car C, etc.). Such discussions will be removed as well.

-Discussion about the Power Unit should belong in its respective PU topic. How the car's chassis and bodywork is adapted to it remains in the car thread, but pure features of the PU don't go there. Since this is quite a grey area, we will not remove transgressions on that front, but will move them when appropiate.

That might sound strict and is infact so, but this is done to safeguard the topic quality. We will be very thorough about that this year! If you don't find anything worthwhile to post, please resist the urge and do not post. There is nothing wrong with that and is infact the better option when there's nothing new.

Would like to see the rear better, but the black is hiding the details. Surprisingly tidy, but not quite as sculpted and tight as the Ferrari esp the side pods.

Has there ever been such an "advanced" debut as this?

Also, what's going on with the broken nose?

Not an attempt to compare wheelbases.

The bumps on the top of the nose joining the body are interested, there are 2, one I guess for a f-duct?

I think Haas isn't given enough credit by people just asuming it is an old Ferrari. It clearly isn't. Kudos to Haas for producing what is quite a neat car.

Very properly developed car for a newcomer. It's certainly not a Ferrari B car as it has elements and ideas from other cars as well.

The front wing and rear wing are direct ferrari carry overs. I bet the gearbox and suspension is too. With so many parts from the f15-t this has car could shine like the sun or be eclipsed by even the marussias! It is anyones guess how good the car will be.

I like the name. I bought a Haas VF2 in 1995 and still have it & it is now hired out to a product development company and is in daily use. Of course I support this team.
