Brilliant move once again! They make money off the first 2 days of testing, giving the remodded 2017 car and if they happen to be in a crash, not an issue because the 2018 beast is still sitting tight in the garage!

There is no 2018 car sitting in the garage because it's already running on track and has been since day 1 of testing.
That this is not the 2017 car is beyond dispute, both tub and cooling layout (sidepods) have changed from the VJM10.
The car will evolve from launch like every other car, new wings and aero pieces will appear when they are ready. No one would say for example that McLaren has yet to release their "real" 2018 car just because they have stated their intention to bring a big upgrade package to Australia.
