Except for the farce of 2008, nobody has won a race here beyond 5th position (2017). Even in 2017, it was due to a collision including the top 3. Barring a drama like 2017, SC has never really altered the race win situation for the leaders. So critical is the track position that, regardless of what tyre a car is on, if it is leading after the pit stop, then most likely it would win the race. So, the leader would like to avoid an undercut and pit first, unless there is around 5 seconds of advantage.
