That has been done for many years in this sort of way.PlatinumZealot wrote: βTue Apr 21, 2020 8:54 pmThose little actuators seem to be LVDTs...
I can see the wires connected. They are measureming suspension movements here.
What are those little black boxes at the end of the pushrods secured with two screws? One cable goes to the end of the pushrod, but seems there are no other connection, just some kind of antenna-like protrusion at the other end...looks like some kind of wireless transponder but what should it report/measure?PlatinumZealot wrote: βTue Apr 21, 2020 8:54 pmThose little actuators seem to be LVDTs...

Strain gauge to measure force on the pushrod (and thus downforce / wheel loads), perhaps?kalinka wrote: βMon May 18, 2020 7:06 amWhat are those little black boxes at the end of the pushrods secured with two screws? Yeah, makes sense. On the other picture from different angle it can be actually seen that it's not wireless, the cable on the other end goes into a hole. The usual F1 "tricks your eyes" effectStrain gauge to measure force on the pushrod (and thus downforce / wheel loads), perhaps?
interesting that, pre-suspended(suspension) force sensor data collection to be calibrated with post-suspended(suspension) data collection, must be in there somewhere..even more interesting if they had laser sensors below the suspension uprights targeted at road surface to measure tyre compression and rebound depth and calibrate frequencies between all that to get an improved set up...maybe tyre pressure sensor is a simpler solution, probably less accurateJust_a_fan wrote: βMon May 18, 2020 8:49 amStrain gauge to measure force on the pushrod (and thus downforce / wheel loads), perhaps?kalinka wrote: βMon May 18, 2020 7:06 amWhat are those little black boxes at the end of the pushrods secured with two screws?
